Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. It becomes very important to learn ample amount of words for the upcoming Government Job Exams. You can learn new words daily from our Daily Word List . Here is a list of words from daily Editorials. Learn the words and make your own sentences on the basis of the given word list.

1. SKULK (verb) छिपना
Meaning: to move about in a sly or secret manner.
Synonyms: lurk, shirk, sneak, crawl.
Antonyms: hustle, hurry, run, race.
Usage: When the criminal surveyed the jewelry store, he tried to skulk around the neighborhood without being noticed.

2. REGNANT (adjective) प्रबल होनेवाला
Meaning: reigning; ruling.
Synonyms: dominant, prevalent, rife, rampant.
Antonyms: powerless, ineffectual, inadequate, ineffective.
Usage: After all, a queen regnant sits on the throne and the monarchy must be feeling pressure from its seemingly more progressive neighbors.

3. DISTRATE (adjective) विचलित
Meaning: distracted or absent-minded.
Synonyms: forgetful, inattentive, oblivious, heedless.
Antonyms: alert, attentive, focused, unperturbed.
Usage: He grew more and more distrait as hours passed without confirmation that there were survivors of the plane crash

4. RIPOSTE (noun) जवाबी प्रहार
Meaning: a quick, clever reply to an insult or criticism.
Synonyms: retort, retaliation, repartee, quip.
Antonyms: request, query, bidding, catechize.
Usage: A riposte to that argument was provided by Sea Containers, the shipping group headed by James Sherwood.

5. BENIGNANT (adjective) दयालु
Meaning: having or marked by sympathy and consideration for others.
Synonyms: beneficent, benevolent, compassionate, softhearted.
Antonyms: atrocious, barbarous, callous, fiendish.
Usage: The queen had a benignant reputation and was loved for her caring treatment of others.

6. DISSEMBLE (verb) ढोंग करना
Meaning: conceal or disguise one's true feelings or beliefs.
Synonyms: deceive, feign, masquerade, disguise.
Antonyms: expose, unmask, unveil, exhibit.
Usage: The con man did his best to dissemble his real motives from the wealthy widow

7. NONPAREIL (adjective) अतुल
Meaning: having no match or equal; unrivalled.
Synonyms: incomparable, matchless, unrivalled, inimitable.
Antonyms: familiar, frequent, normal, ordinary.
Usage: The champions deserved the title because they were nonpareil all season and won every game.

8. STENTORIAN (adjective) बुलंद
Meaning: (of a person's voice) loud and powerful.
Synonyms: blaring, clamorous, piercing, resounding.
Antonyms: peaceful, serene, soothing, tranquil.
Usage: When my father speaks in a stentorian voice, I know I’m in trouble.

9. FARRAGO (noun) घालमेल
Meaning: a confused mixture.
Synonyms: mishmash, hodgepodge, clutter, turmoil.
Antonyms: constituent, ravel, sequence, categorization.
Usage: The present gun law is a farrago of nonsense as most of it is unenforceable.

10. LENITY (noun) उदारता
Meaning: kind, gentle, or compassionate treatment especially towards someone who is undeserving of it.
Synonyms: charity, clemency, forbearance, leniency.
Antonyms: ruthlessness, vengeance, vindictiveness, virulence.
Usage: This savage punishment was approved by the higher officers of the navy, who showed great lenity to men of their own rank.
