Only two people have more experience than the one who likes Hockey. Deepali has less experience than the PO, but more experience than the one who likes Badminton. The one who has less experience than Chandra likes Tennis. Deepti neither has the least experience nor she works as an Assistant Vice President. The one who likes Cricket is not a PO.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;"> It is the main memory of computer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> It keeps track of current processing</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> It is volatile, i.e., turning the power off erases all of the data.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> For main memory, computers use RAM or Random Access Memory.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">Auxiliary Storage = Secondary Storage Magnetic Disks</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">These are commonly used type of auxiliary storage. They come in numerous sizes and materials and by the method of magnetism data are stored on the magnetic surface. The advantages of using magnetic disk is high storage capacity, reliable and providing the direct access to data. There is a drive that spins the disk very quickly underneath a read/write head. It reads data from a disk and writes data to a disk.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>DISKETTE/FLOPPY DISK</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">These disks come in two different sizes that are</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(i) 5*(1/4)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(ii) 3*(1/2)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Both sizes are made of mylar with an oxide coating. This coating provides the magnetic quality for the disk.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>DISK FORMAT</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">All the magnetic disks have the similar format. They are divided into the following areas</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(i) Tracks A track is a circular ring on one side of the disk and each track has a number. The diagram given here shows three tracks of a disk.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(ii) Sectors A disk sector is a wedge shaped piece of the disk as shown in the given figure.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">A track sector is the area of intersection of a track and a sector.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(iii) Clusters A cluster is a set of track sectors, ranging from 2 to 32. 1 cluster is the minimum space used by any read or write</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(iv) Cylinders A cylinder is a set of matched tracks.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>WHEN A DISK IS FORMATTED</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> All data is erased.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> All the surfaces are checked for physical and magnetic defects.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> A root directory is created to list where things are on the disk.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>DISK CAPACITY</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">The capacity of a magnetic disk depends on the following factors</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"> The recording density (i.e., closeness of the bits on a track sector of the innermost track).</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>ACCESSING DATA</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">In order to access the data, the various steps are required that are as follows:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(i) Seek: moves the head to proper track , which measured as seek time in terms of milliseconds.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(ii) Rotate: It rotates the disk under the head to the correct sector that is measured as rotational delay in terms of milliseconds.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(iii) Settle It lowers the head to disk and waits for vibrations from moving to stop. It is measured as settling time in terms of milliseconds.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(iv) Data Transfer It copies data to main memory and is measured as data transfer rate in terms of Kbps.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>MAGNETIC TAPE</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Magnetic tapes are same as VCR tape in the way of storing data. The speed of data access can be quite slow, however, when the tape is long and whatever desired is not near the start. Therefore, this is used for mainly major backups of large amounts of data.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>TYPES OF MAGNETIC TAPE</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">There are mainly two types of magnetic tape as Tape Reel and Tape Cassette. Each of the type has its own requirements. The older systems designed for networks use reel-to-reel tapes. Newer systems use cassettes holding more data than that of the huge reels. Tape Formats The magnetic tape is divided into the following format Density Higher density means more data on shorter tape. It is measured as bpi = bits per inch. It ranges from 800 bpi to 6250 bpi. Blocks Just as a floppy is divided into tracks and sectors, in the same way, a tape is divided into logical blocks. One file can take up a number of logical blocks, but must take up one whole block at least.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>GAP</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">The gaps set on the tape are of two types</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">(i) Interblock gap – It separates logical blocks.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>OPTICAL DISKS</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">For the optical disks, an entirely different method is used to record data. They include the various kinds of CD and DVD disks.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>FEATURES OF OPTICAL DISKS</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> They are formed of layers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> Data are arranged in a spiral groove on starting from the centre of the disk.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> Digital data are in form of 1's and 0's.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> The different types of optical disks use different materials and methods to absorb and reflect the light.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> The absorption and reflection of laser light is read as a ‘1’ or a '0' by the computer.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"> The optical disks (CD-R, DVD-R and DVD + R) that we can record on our own computer are called writable or recordable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> A writable disk is useful as a backup medium when we need long term storage of our data.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> The data layer for this disk is an organic dye that the writing laser changes.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>REWRITE</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> A rewritable disk is an option for backup storage of changing data.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">For example CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD + RW, DVD + RAM.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> We can erase and write on these disks as many as 1000 times, for CD-RW and even 100000 times for the DVD-RW types.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> The data layer for this disk uses a phase changing metal alloy film.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>ADVANTAGES OF OPTICAL DISKS</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> An optical disk is physically harder to break or melt or warp.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"> It does not get affected by the effect of magnetic fields.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> They can hold much more data than floppy disks.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>OTHER DEVICES</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><b>FLASH MEMORY</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> They are solid state devices that read and write data electrically, instead of magnetically.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"> Devices like digital cameras, digital camcorders and cell phones use compact flash, smart media or another flash memory card.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"> They are also known as flash drive, flash pen, thumb drive, key drive and mini - USB drive.</div>

एटवुड को उनके उपन्यास 'दि हैंडमेड्स टेल' (The Handmaid's Tale) और एनरिस्टो को 'गर्ल, वूमेन, अदर' (Girl, Women, Other) उपन्यास के लिए यह पुरस्कार मिला। इसके साथ ही बुकर पुरस्कार जीतने वाली पहली अश्वेत महिला और पहली अश्वेत ब्रिटिश लेखिका बन गई हैं।<br />
एटवुड यह पुरस्कार जीतने वाली सबसे बुजुर्ग लेखिका<br />
वहीं, कनाडा की लेखिका एटवुड (79) यह पुरस्कार जीतने वाली सबसे बुजुर्ग लेखिका बन गई हैं। इससे पहले साल 2000 में भी उन्होंने बुकर पुरस्कार जीता था। तब उन्हें 'दि ब्लाइंड असेसिन' (The Blind Assasin) के लिए सम्मानित किया गया था। दो बार बुकर पुरस्कार जीतने वाली वह दूसरी और कुल मिलाकर चौथी लेखक हैं।<br />

<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>2. विश्व बैंक के बाद IMF ने घटाया विकास दर का अनुमान</b></span><br />
अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) ने एक बार फिर से भारत की वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 में रहने वाली विकास दर के लिए अनुमान घटा दिया है। आईएमएफ के ताजा अनुमान के मुताबिक भारत की जीडीपी इस साल 6.1 फीसदी की रफ्तार से ग्रोथ करेगी। इससे पहले अप्रैल में इसके 7.3 फीसदी रहने का अनुमान व्यक्त किया गया था।<br />
इससे पहले सितंबर में आईएमएफ ने वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 में आर्थिक विकास दर सात फीसदी रहने की उम्मीद जताई थी। इसमें 0.30 फीसदी की कटौती की गई थी। इस संदर्भ में आईएमएफ ने कहा है कि कॉरपोरेट और रेग्युलेटरी अनिश्चितताओं और कुछ गैर-बैंकिंग वित्तीय संस्थाओं की कमजोरी के कारण भारत की आर्थिक विकास दर अनुमान से अधिक कमजोर हुई।<br />
आईएमएफ से पहले विश्व बैंक ने भी रविवार को जीडीपी का अनुमान घटाकर के छह फीसदी कर दिया था। इससे केंद्र की नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार को झटका लग सकता है। विश्व बैंक के अनुसार, भारत की विकास दर छह फीसदी रह सकती है। जबकि साल 2018-19 में वृद्धि दर 6.9 फीसदी थी। विश्व बैंक का कहना है कि साल 2021 में वृद्धि दर दोबारा 6.9 फीसदी पर आ सकती है। वहीं 2022 में इसमें और भी सुधार हो सकता है। साल 2022 में भारत की विकास दर 7.2 फीसदी पर रहने का अनुमान है।<br />

महिला क्रिकेट को प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद (ICC) ने वर्ष 2021 में पहली बार महिला अंडर-19 विश्व कप आयोजित करने की घोषणा की है। आईसीसी बोर्ड की सोमवार को दुबई में हुई बैठक में यह फैसला लिया गया। महिला अंडर-19 विश्व कप प्रत्येक दो वर्ष बाद आयोजित किया जाएगा।<br />
महिला अंडर-19 विश्व कप क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन 2021 में बांग्लादेश में किया जाएगा।<br />

फेडरर ने अभी तक ओलंपिक खेलों में एकल वर्ग में स्वर्ण नहीं जीता है। उन्होंने लंदन ओलंपिक-2012 में रजत पदक जीता था। वह ब्रिटेन के एंडी मरे से हार गए थे। चोट के कारण वह रियो ओलंपिक-2016 में नहीं खेल सके थे।<br /></div>

रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड ने एक नोटिफिकेशन जारी करके बताया है कि CEN-01/2019 NTPC पदों के लिए कंप्यूटर बेस्ड परीक्षा जो जून और सितंबर में शेड्यूल की गई थी अब स्थगित की जाती है और नया शेड्यूल जल्द जारी किया जाएगा।<br />

रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड अहमदाबाद की वेबसाइट पर यह नोटिफिकेशन जारी किया गया है। आरआरबी एनटीपीसी 15 अलग भाषाओं में एनटीपीसी परीक्षा करान की योजना बना रही है।<br />

आपको बता दें कि 35,208 पदों के लिए एक करोड़ 26 लाख से भी ज्यादा आवेदन प्राप्त हुए हैं। ऐसे में इतने सारे उम्मीदवारों की परीक्षा कराना रेलवे के लिए एक चुनौती होगा। आरआरबी एनटीपीसी परीक्षा के दस दिन पहले से एडमिट कार्ड जारी होंगे। उम्मीदवार इन्हें आरआरबी की वेबासाइट से डाउनलोड कर सकेंगे।<br />

चीनी राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग रविवार को नेपाल पहुंचे। नेपाल में उनका भव्य स्वागत किया गया। इस दौरान उन्होंने नेपाली राष्ट्रपति विद्या देवी भंडारी से भी मुलाकात की। इसके बाद दोनो देशों के बीच 18 समझौते हुए। चीनी राष्ट्रपति ने नेपाल के विकास कार्यक्रमों के लिए 56 अरब नेपाली रुपये की सहायता देने की घोषणा की।<br />

पोप फ्रांसिस ने भारतीय नन मरियम थ्रेसिया और चार अन्य को संत घोषित किया। सिस्टर थ्रेसिया के साथ साथ ब्रिटेन के कार्डिनल जॉन हेनरी न्यूमेन, स्विस लेवूमन मार्ग्यूरिट बेस, ब्राजील की सिस्टर डुलस लोप्स और इटली की सिस्टर ग्यूसेपिना वन्नीनी को भी संत घोषित किया गया।<br />
केरल के त्रिशुर में 26 अप्रैल 1876 में जन्मी थ्रेसिया को 1904 में मरियम थ्रेसिया नाम से पुकारा जाने लगा। उन्होंने मई 1914 में त्रिशुर में सिस्टरों के समूह होली मिलन की स्थापना की। वेटिकन न्यूज के मुताबिक चर्च ने उन्हें, सम्मानित एवं पूज्यनीय व्यक्ति घोषित किया था। उन्होंने गरीबों की मदद की, बीमारों का ख्याल रखा और बेसहारा लोगों को सहारा दिया। सिस्टर मरियम थ्रेसिया का 50 वर्ष की आयु में 8 जून 1926 को निधन हो गया। वहीं 9 अप्रैल 2000 को पोप जॉन पॉल द्वितीय ने पवित्र आत्मा घोषित किया था। </div>

भारत और अमेरिका के बीच होने वाला संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास वज्र प्रहार आज से सिएटल के संयुक्त बेस लुईस-मैककॉर्ड में शुरू हो रहा है। यह वज्र प्रहार संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास का 10वां संस्करण है। यह युद्धाभ्यास 28 अक्टूबर तक चलेगा।<br />
इसमें दोनों देशों की स्पेशल फोर्सेज हिस्सा ले रही हैं। भारत की तरफ से इस सैन्य अभ्यास में भाग लेने के लिए भारतीय सेना का 45 सदस्यीय पैरा कमांडो का दस्ता अमेरिका पहुंचा हुआ है।<br />

भारतीय-अमेरिकी कांग्रेसी राजा कृष्णमूर्ति ने अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि सभा में इस वर्ष महात्मा गांधी की 150वीं जयंती और उनकी विरासत का जश्न मनाए जाने का प्रस्ताव पेश किया है।<br />
शुक्रवार को प्रस्ताव पेश करने के बाद कृष्णमूर्ति ने कहा कि महात्मा गांधी मेरे निजी नायकों में से एक हैं। इस प्रस्ताव को 14 अन्य सांसदों के द्विदलीय समूह द्वारा स्वीकार किया गया था। उन्होंने कहा, ‘सार्वजनिक सेवा के लिए गांधी का समर्पण एक प्रेरणा है। कई कठिनाइयों और अन्यायों का सामना करने के बाद भी उन्होंने कभी भी स्वतंत्रता, गरिमा और समानता की लड़ाई में हार नहीं मानी।’<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">Steve Smith dethroned India captain Virat Kohli to reclaim the top spot in ICC Test rankings, released on Tuesday. Kohli was dismissed for a first-ball duck in the second innings of the final Test against the West Indies, which saw him slip to the No.2 spot. Two of the most prolific batsmen in world cricket currently, Steve Smith (904) and Virat Kohli (903) are separated by a single rating point in the latest Test rankings. However, Steve Smith will have a chance to further consolidate his lead when Australia face England in the fourth Test in Manchester, starting from September 4. Following them in the list are Kane Williamson (878), Cheteshwar Pujara (825) and Henry Nicholls (749).</div>

<b style="text-align: justify;">5. Cabinet Clears Rs. 9,300-Crore Capital Infusion In IDBI Bank</b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">The Cabinet cleared the IDBI Bank recapitalisation plan with a one-time infusion by the government and LIC.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">The fund infusion will enable IDBI Bank to return to profitability and normal lending, and give the government the option of recovering its investment at an opportune time, an official statement said. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">The government will provide a one-time recapitalisation of Rs. 4,557 crore to IDBI Bank, Mr Javadekar said, adding that LIC will infuse Rs. 4,743 crore. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">The minister reiterated that as part of the Budget 2019-20, the government provided a support of Rs. 70,000 crore for recapitalisation of public sector banks. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">LIC has a 51 per cent share in IDBI Bank, whereas the remaining 49 per cent stake is with the government.</div>
