400 crore rupees for Rooftop solar projects announced by SBI

State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday announced financing of rooftop solar projects worth 400 crore rupees. “SBI availed [a] loan of $625 million from the World Bank for on-lending to viable Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV projects undertaken by photovoltaic developers/ aggregators and end-users for installation of rooftop solar systems on rooftops of commercial, institutional and industrial buildings.

SEBI committee headed by Uday Kotak

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has formed a committee under the chairmanship of Uday Kotak, executive vice chairman and managing director, Kotak Mahindra Bank to advise on corporate governance issues. It will recommend steps to improve corporate governance of listed companies in India. Among other things, the committee will look at ways to ensure independence of independent directors.

Scientists from the University of Adelaide have developed an artificial intelligence system that can predict how long a person will live by scanning through the images of their organs. The system analysed the medical images of 48 patients and was able to predict which of them would die within five years with 69% accuracy.

Roberto de Vicenzo golf player passes away

Argentine golfing great Roberto de Vicenzo died on Thursday at the age of 94, his son Eduardo said. de Vicenzo started out as a caddie in 1932 but rose through the golfing ranks to win the 1967 British Open, beating the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. He won 230 tournaments worldwide, including four PGA titles.
