- Fruitless - failing to achieve the desired results (useless)
- Pursuit - the process of trying to achieve something
- Ordinance - a law or rule made by a government or authority
- Surge - a sudden increase of an emotion
- Taming - to control something dangerous or powerful

- Momentum - the force that keeps an event developing after it has started
