Hi I am Uma Maheshwara Reddy. Today I am sharing some important Schemes launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2016 and their aims. Happy Reading :)

New Development Schemes (Pradhan Mantri Schemes) 2016


AMRUT - Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and UrbanTransportation :
Aim :To rejuvenate 500 cities over 5 years. 
Apprentice Protsahan Yojana 
Aim : To support manufacturing units and other establishments by reimbursing 50% of the stipend paid to apprentices during first two years of their training. It also aims to create a new perception to respect labour. The revamped apprenticeship scheme and Industrial Training Institutes would have a total of 34 lakh seats for students. 

Atal Pension Yojana Aim :
To provide for a monthly pension of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000 from the age of 60 years for all bank account holders in the unorganised sector which does not pay any income tax and whose age is between 18 to 40 years. The monthly pension will depend on the contribution made, ie., from z 42 to 2210 per month beginning at 18 years. 

Bal Swachhta Mission
Aim : As part of Swachh Bharat Mission, a nationwide sanitation initiative, to provide at least a toilet in every school, and a separate one for girls. All MPs are required to take the mission forward. The Corporates participation is also sought to fulfill their social responsibility to their country.

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana 
Aim : To address the issue of decline child sex ratio and women empowerment through advocacy, multisectoral action and effective enforcement of preconception and prenatal diagnostic technique with an initial corpus of 3100 crore in 100 districts and extended to 11 States/UT and 61 more districts. 

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana for Urban and Rural Poor
Aim : To alleviate urban and rural poverty through enhancement of livelihood opportunities through skill develop-ment and other means. 

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana 
Aim : To train 10 lakh rural youths for jobs in three years,. that is, by 2017. 

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Shramev Jayate Karyakram 
Aim : To create an environment conducive for industrial development under 'Make in India' to make it easy for businesses in India to succeed

  • while ensuring transpar-ancy in the labour sector 
  • when the labour's problems will be seen from the labour's point of view. organise where the "labour's problems will be seen from the labour's point of view." 
Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana 
Aim : To provide access of electricity to rural households across the country.
Digital India
Aim : To connect every Indian through technology, to provide governance in an easier, effective and economic way, via, mobile phones and have every village on a broadband platform.

Digital Life Certificate 'Jeevan Pramaan' for Pensioners 
Aim : To create a Life Certificate issued by specified authorities which retired employees of government and PSUs can digitally provide as proof of his or her existence to authorities for continuity of pension every year instead of requiring to present himself physically. 

eNam (National Agriculture Market) 
Aim : A pan India trading portal to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities. 

Gangajal Delivery Scheme 
Aim : Gangajal Home Delivery through Indian Post - to de-liver "Gangajal" to doorstep through Indian Postal Services. Under the Gangajal Delivery Scheme, any person can get the pious Gangajal delivered to the doorstep at nominal prices.

Gold Bond Scheme 
Aim : Government launches three gold schemes- Gold Coins Scheme, Gold Monetisation Scheme and Sovereign Gold Bond to reduce physical demand for gold.

Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan
Aim : It is a nationwide movement towards social harmony, strengthening of Panchayati Raj, rural development and farmer's progress.

Housing for All (URBAN) :
Aim : To construct 2 crore affordable houses in urban areas for urban poor in the next 7 years (by 2022) when India celebrates in 75th year of Independence. HRIDAY Scheme (National Heritage City De-velopment and Augmentation Yojana): Aim: For conserving and preserving the heritage characters of 12 cities. These are: Amritsar, Varanasi, Gaya, Puri,Ajmer, Mathura, Dwarka, Badami,Velankanni, Kanchipuram,Warangal (Telangana) and Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh)

Indradhanush 
Aim : Seven point mission to fortify public sector banks

Jan Aushadi Scheme 
Aim : It lets one avail quality medicines (generic) at affordable price.

Jeevan Jyoti Scheme
Aim : To provide life insurance coverage to people between 18-50 year for 32 lakhs.

Khelo India Abhiyan 
Aim : To develop indoor and outdoor sports disciplines by merging Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan, Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme and National Sports Talent Search Scheme. 

Krishi Amdani Beema Yojana
Aim: To help farmers financially in case their produce gets destroyed due to unexpected weather, don't fetch good market price or any other reason.

`Make in India' Global Initiative 
Aim : To boost India's manufacturing sector besides invite global manufacturers to come to India and, produce in India and sell it to the world, in order to strike a balance between imports and exports and create jobs. 

Namami Gange 
Aim : To clean River Ganga.

National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) 
Aim : To provide training to students in their field which will further help them in the placement and obtaining a suitable job. It will create 50 lakh apprentices by 2019-20. 

NITI Aayog 
Aim : To give a new direction to the country through creative thinking, public-private partnership and optimum utilisation of resources, a new institution has been formed by dismantling the Planning Commission.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Aim : The govern-ment has drawn up the list of beneficiaries based on SECC 2011 data. The Iist, however, will be verified at the gram sabha level. The government will make the list of beneficiaries public. 

Pradhan Mantri Gram Parivahan Yojana 
Aim : To create a better transport systems through 80,000 Commercial PVs across the country at subsidized rate in the rural areas. 

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sinchai Yojana
Aim : This scheme is designed to increase the agricultural productivity

Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yoiana
Aim : For a comprehensive economic inclusion, to provide the bank accounts, insurance cover and a debit card to all the citizens of the country. 

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan jyoti Bima Yojana
Aim : This scheme is a renewable one year life insurance cover for Rs. 2 lakhs for a premium of 2330 for all bank account holders whose age is between 18 to 50 years. The life insurance amount goes to the bereaved family.

Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency)
Aim : This scheme aims at funding the unfunfed small enterprises who provide employment and contribute to nation-building.

PMRD Fellows Scheme
Aim : To engage young professionals to work with District Collector in improving the development facilitators who will be available as a ready resource for rural development activities over a long term. 

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bandhan 
Aim : It is a fixed Deposit scheme started at all nationalised banks that offers 8% interest on deposits made as a gift during Rakshabandhan festival ( as a means for financial security). 

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yoiana
Aim : It is a renewable accidental death-cum-disability cover of 32 lakhs for a premium of 312 per annum for all bank account holders whose age is between 18 to 70 years. 

Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) 
Aim : Free Health Checkup for Pregnant Women, especially the poor.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 
Aim : To provide subsidised 5 crore LPG connections to women Below Poverty Line (BPL) house-holds over next 3 financial years, at a cost of 38000 crores. It is partly powered by "Give it up" programme where users give up subsidy on LPG cylinders.

Random Inspection Scheme
Aim : To bring in transparency in labour inspection and envisages that serious matters are to be covered under the mandatory inspection list and a computerised list of inspections will be generated randomly based on predetermined objective criteria. There is also a provision for 'emergency list' for inspecting serious cases. The inspectors have to upload their reports on to the portal within 72 hours of carrying out an inspection. As a step to end harassment by officials—this transparent labour inspection scheme would check arbitrariness.

Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana
Aim : To introduce a smart card for the workers in the unorganised sector seeded with details of two more social security schemes. While commenting on the new reforms, corporate bodies said that the new initiatives will make it easier for them to do business in India and boost global investor sentiment by easing compli-ance burden and ushering in transparency. 

RuPay Card
Aim : India's own, native and multilateral system of transaction processing, esp. through debit card.

Sansad Aadarsh Gram Yojana 
Aim : All the Members of Parliament are to adopt a village in their constituencies as a model village by 2016 and wo more villages by 2019 using their development funds which should altogether covering over 2,500 villages of the 6 lakh villages country-wide. The idea of this scheme is to develop villages every year in areas such as health, sanitation, greenery and cordiality. In charge of the scheme: Ministry of Rural Development.

Shram Suvidha Portal
Aim : Under the scheme the government would allot Labour Identification Number (LIN) to nearly 6 lakh firms and allow them to file online compliance for 16 out of 44 labour laws by simplifying the process through introduction of just a single online form.The LIN web portal will operate through a unique LIN or Shram Pehchan Sankhya for each employer and will provide for the e-filing of annual returns by employers. 

Shramev Jayate Programme (Work alone triumphs)
Aim : The scheme calls for 'Minimum Government and Maximum Governance' where the emphasis is that all actions of the ministry are geared to bring about greater transparency and speed in the system.

Skill India' Initiative
Aim : To train over 40 crore people in different skills by 2022. The initiatives include National Skill Development Mission, National Policyfor Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015, Pradhan Mantri KaushalVikasYojana (PMKVY) scheme and the Skill Loan scheme. The scheme will recognise and provide skill to 24 lakh youth who lack formal certification, such as workers in vast unorganised sector. Such skilled workforce could be employed anywhere in the world and encourage entrepreneurship to create more jobs at home. Special camps are being organised with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan to build awareness of the program.

Smart Cities Mission
Aim : To set-up 100 smart cities across India on the basis of demand from the residents and municipalities, with provisions for technology, energy efficiency, efficient transport, walk-to-work, and cycling.

Stand Up India Loan Scheme
Aim : to provide financial assistance to the schedule caste, backward tribes and women and also promote entrepreneurship and employment.

Start Up India for New Initiatives

Sukanya Samriddhi account

Aim : Under the scheme, an interest of 9.2% (FY 2015-16) is provide on deposited amount which is tax free. The account under this scheme a saving account can be opened by the parent or legal guardian of a girl child of less than 10 years of age with a minimum deposit of 31,000 in any post office or authorised branches of commercial bank. 
Sukanya Yojana :
Aim : A deposit scheme only for girls who are forced to quit their studies or forced to marry at an early age 
Swachch Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign) :
Aim : National level campaign by the Government of India covering 4041 statutory towns to clean the streets, roads and infra-structure of the country. Aims to accomplish the vision by 2 October 2019, 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. 
Swavavlamban Abhiyaan (self reliance drive)
Aim : To uplift the poor, empowering women and youth and those people living below poverty line to ensure dignity besides self-sufficiency. 
Uday-Ujwal Scheme
Aim : to protect financially threatened power distributing private Discoms Universal Account Number scheme Aim: To enable 41.7 million employees to make their Provident Fund account portable, hassle-free and universally accessible. 
Vidyanjali Yojana 
Aim : A School Volunteer Programme/Scheme by HRD Ministry for enhancing the involvement of community and private sector in Government run elementary schools. The Vidyanjali scheme has been launched under the overall aegis of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. 
Zero-Defect, Zero-Effect Scheme
Aim : To encourage domestic manufacturers to adopt a 'Made in India' policy to make top-of-the-line products with no defects and ill-effect on the environment. 'Made in India' must stand for quality products.
