IBPS RRB Officer Scale- I Pre Overall Analysis 2016 Exam – 4th November 2016

Dear Aspirants,

The Preliminary phase of the IBPS RRB Scale – I Exam had started from 04th November 2016. The First set of the exam is scheduled today. The Exam was held in five slots & was scheduled from 9:00 am – 9: 45 am, 11:00 am – 11: 45 am, 01:00 pm – 01: 45 pm, 03:00 pm – 03: 45 pm, 05:00 pm – 05:45 am. We are now going to provide you the Overall analysis of this slot of the exam.

Quantitative Aptitude (40 Qs)

Miscellaneous questions include – Age, Probability, Partnership, Profit Loss, Average, Boats & Stream, Compound/Simple Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Time & Work, etc.

Reasoning Ability (40 Qs)

Level – Moderate

(i) Syllogism – 5 Questions (Easy)

(ii) Inequality – 5 Questions (Easy)

(iii) Puzzle- 15 Questions (Easy to Moderate)

1st Slot:- 

• Puzzle- Order Ranking – (Floor) 5 Questions
• Seating Arrangement – Square – 5 Questions (Moderate) (Some people facing outside & inward)
• Linear Seating Arrangement – 5 Questions (All facing North)

2nd Slot:- 

• Puzzle- Order Ranking – (Floor) 5 Questions
• Seating Arrangement – Square – 5 Questions (Moderate) (week days as other parameter)
• Linear Seating Arrangement – 5 Questions

3rd Slot:- 

• Puzzle- Order Ranking – (Floor) 5 Questions
• Seating Arrangement – Square – 5 Questions (Moderate)
• Linear Seating Arrangement – 5 Questions (All facing North)

4th Slot:- 

• Puzzle- Order Ranking – (Floor) 5 Questions (nine floor based)
• Seating Arrangement – Square – 5 Questions (Moderate) (8 people and seven days of week)

(vii) Blood Relation – 2 questions

(viii) Coding – Decoding – 2 questions

(ix) Miscellaneous Questions  – 8 Questions (Easy to Moderate) 

(Alphabetical Series, etc.)

As per the analysis of all the slots & the level of questions asked it is expected 50+ attempts will be good.
Those who have attempted 50+ are on safe side.

Do’s & Don’t

Please plan sectional timing properly & attempt the exam in following sequence, you can follow your own strategies also…

1. Quant – 25 min 

2. Reasoning : 20 mins

1. Quantitative Aptitude –

This section was of moderate level. Quadratic Equation  questions was easy to moderate, try to attempt these questions first.

The Number series questions was of moderate level, you can attempt 5 questions. Some Miscellaneous questions was of moderate & time consuming, so don’t waste time on these question. You can easily attempt 20 – 25 question in this section. 

2. Reasoning Section –

This time the level of the Reasoning section was of moderate level. There were 3 puzzle, mostly puzzle was of moderate. To clear the sectional cutoff of this section, don’t start with puzzle questions. You can start questions with Inequality, Blood relation, etc. Try to attempt questions with 100% accuracy. If you can manage to attempt 28 – 30 questions, you can easily clear the section cutoff of this section.

Good Attempts –

1. Reasoning Ability – 20 – 25

2. Quantitative Aptitude – 28 – 30

Section-wise Expected Cut off 

1. Reasoning – 15 – 16 

2. Quantitative  Aptitude – 12 – 14
