NABARD Development Assistant 2016 Exam: Syllabus & Exam Pattern

As we all know that NABARD has released the official notification for the recruitment of personal for the post of Development Assistant & Development Assistant (Hindi).

Total 85 vacancies are out for this post across various states/UT. But candidates can apply from any one state/UT only.

Important Dates

Online Registration starts from – 30 August 2016

Last date of Online Registration – 20 September  2016

Date of Online Exam – The online exam to be held on November or December. Exact dates of examination would be announced separately on NABARD’s website.

Exam Pattern

First of all, eligibility of candidates will be checked by NABARD and only the eligible candidates according to NABARD will receive the admit card for phase I. So fill the form carefully.

Phase I: Preliminary Exam (Objective): The preliminary exam of NABARD assistant development is of 100 marks consisting 100 questions from 3 sections:

  • English language
  • Numerical Ability
  • Reasoning

There is no specific time limit for a particular section. Total time duration for attempting 100 questions is 60 minutes.

A candidate has to qualify in each part of the Objective test separately. There will be negative marks for wrong answer. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The marks secured in the Phase I (Prelim Exam) will not be counted for the purpose of Final Selection. This is a qualifying round similar to SBI PO prelim exam.

Phase II: Mains Exam(Objective & Descriptive): The mains exam of NABARD assistant development is of 200 marks consisting 150 questions from 5 sections & one descriptive paper of 50 marks. The five sections are illustrated below:

  • English language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General Awareness
  • Computer Knowledge
  • Reasoning

There is no specific time limit for a particular section. Total time duration for attempting 150 questions is 90 minutes. After attempting objective exam, there will be a descriptive exam of 50 marks.

A candidate has to qualify in each part of the Objective test separately. There will be negative marks for wrong answer. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Note:
Final selection will be on the basis of candidate’s performance in the online Main examination in the order of merit. The decision of the Bank in this regard will be final.

  • Alphanumeric Series
  • Ranking/Direction/Alphabet test
  • Data sufficiency
  • Coded Inequalities
  • Puzzle
  • Logical Reasoning

Quantitative Aptitude

In Quant section questions are asked from different topics which are as follows:

  • Simplification
  • Number Series
  • Ratio & Proportion
  • Percentage & Averages
  • Profit & Loss
  • Mixtures & Allegations
  • Simple Interest & Compound Interest
  • Work & Time
  • Time & Distance
  • Sequence & Series
  • Permutation, Combination & Probability
  • Data Interpretation

English Language

In English Language section questions are asked from different topics which are as follows:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Spotting Error
  • Fill in the blank
  • Cloze test
  • Para-Jumbles

General Awareness

In GA section questions are asked from different topics which are occurred in last three or four months.

  • News related to Reserve Bank of India
  • Banking Awareness / Financial Awareness
  • Current Affairs – Questions can be asked from various fields such as: National, International, Awards, Sports, Defence, Summits, Appointment, Books & Authors and Obituary etc.
  • Static GK (Few questions)

Computer Knowledge

In Computer Knowledge section questions are asked from different topics which are illustrated below:

  • Fundamentals of Computer
  • History of Computer
  • Internet
  • MS Office – Word, Power point, Excel & Access
  • Memory
  • Input Output devices
  • Computer Shortcuts

Professional knowledge

This test will contain questions on fluency in hindi language, translation from hindi to english and english to hindi. There may be other types of questions also.

Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter for examination from NABARD’s website.
