Vocabulary- Knowledge Enhancement Set-2

1. pragmatic- व्यावहारिक
Example
In my opinion, the apex court did not make a very pragmatic decision when it ordered removal of black film from all vehicles in the country.

उदाहरण
मेरी राय में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने एक बहुत व्यावहारिक निर्णय नहीं किया जब उसने देश के सभी वाहनों से काली फिल्म को हटाने का आदेश दिया।

2. pensive- उदास
Example
The gloomy weather made everyone feel pensive, but when, all of a sudden, clouds appeared and it started to drizzle, people cheered up.

उदाहरण
अंधकारमय मौसम हर किसी को उदास महसूस करा रहा था, लेकिन अचानक, जब बादल दिखाई पड़े और बूंदाबांदी शुरू हो गई, तब लोग एकदम खुश हो गए।

3. entrap- फंसाना, जाल में फंसाना, पाश, फुसलाना
Example
In modern credit card system you are entrapped in a web of debt and there is no way to come out of it.

उदाहरण
आधुनिक क्रेडिट कार्ड प्रणाली में आप ऋण के जाल में फंसे रहते हैं और इसमें से बाहर निकलने का कोई तरीका नहीं होता है।

4. disconnected- असंबद्ध
Example
After the officials from the Planning Commission talked about daily wages; we had no doubt in how disconnected they were from the concerns of the common man.

उदाहरण
योजना आयोग के अधिकारियों ने जब दैनिक मजदूरी के बारे में बात की तब हमें इस बारे में कोई शक नहीं रहा कि वे आम आदमी के सरोकारों से कितने असंबद्ध हैं।

5. concurrent- समवर्ती, सहगामी, संयुक्त, समरूपी, बराबर का
Example
High prices, falling demand and poor weather were three concurrent trends that made it difficult for the farmers.

उदाहरण

ऊँची कीमतें, गिरती मांग और खराब मौसम - ये तीन समवर्ती प्रचलन थे जिन्होंने किसानों के लिये मुश्किलें पैदा की।
