1. ‘Russia, Iran, Syria cooperating on security issues in Baghdad’
Iraq has said its military officials are engaged in intelligence and security cooperation in Baghdad with Russia, Iran and Syria to counter the threat from the Islamic State (IS) militant group, a pact that could raise concerns in Washington.
A statement from the Iraqi military’s joint operations command on Saturday said the cooperation had come “with increased Russian concern about the presence of thousands of terrorists from Russia undertaking criminal acts with Daesh [IS].

2. Manipur Governor Syed Ahmed passes away
Manipur Governor Syed Ahmed passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai on Sunday morning, family sources said.
Ahmed was suffering from cancer and admitted to Lilavati Hospital last week, they said.
He was 73 and is survived by wife, one son and two daughters.
Besides dabbling in politics, where he started his career in Congress, Ahmed also had a flair for writing, especially in Urdu. Ahmed held two master’s degrees (in Hindi and English) and a doctorate in Urdu.
He has written an autobiography Pagdandi se Shahar Tak.

3. Air India to launch non-stop flight to San Francisco from Dec 2
ir India announced the launch of a non-stop flight to San Francisco from December 2, fulfilling a long-pending demand of Indian IT professionals.
“We are launching a direct non-stop flight to the San Francisco on December 2, as there was a demand for it,” Air India CMD, Ashwani Lohani, announced at an event to celebrate the World Tourism Day.
San Francisco will be the national carrier’s fourth destination in the United States after New York and Chicago, where it operates daily non-stop flights.
The Boeing 777-200 LR (Long Range) flight, to be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, will have a convenient early morning departure and arrival. Similarly, the return flight will have early morning departure from San Francisco and arrive here in the afternoon.

4. Snapdeal launches SD Advisor Programme to assist sellers
Online marketplace major Snapdeal launched its SD Advisor Programme, under which its two lakh sellers will get a personal advisor to assist them in business management on the platform.
The programme, part of Snapdeal’s USD 200 million investment for building the digital ecosystem for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in India, will provide free customised and multimodal training to sellers.
“The programme has been launched to build personalised partnerships with our existing and potential sellers, understand their business and offer customised advice depending on the various stages of their business life-cycle,” Snapdeal Senior Vice President (Market Development), Vishal Chadha told.
A single point of contact to provide market insights and offer options from various initiatives that Snapdeal runs for sellers, will help SMBs tackle technological, financial and other business challenges

5. Conference on contemporary relevance of Bhagvad Gita held in United Kingdom
The first conference on the contemporary relevance of the Bhagvad Gita was held on 25 September 2015 in London, United Kingdom. The conference was organised by Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) and High Commission of India.
It was organised in collaboration with the Department of the Study of Religions at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
The conference aimed to deal with the innumerable questions that exercise and confound through Bhagvad Gita and help to tap unique transformational energy.
The experts and historians from India and Britain got together for this two-day session which included aspects such as Bhagvad Gita and Yoga, Impact of Bhagvad Gita on Modern Sanskrit Writings and The Bhagvad Gita Timeless Values for Today
