12 Days Study Plan for SBI PO Preliminary Exam

As SBI is going to call around 40,000 candidates for SBI PO Mains exam, cutoff is going to be around 45. Marks secured in Preliminary exam won't be considered for final selection. Candidates who clear Prelim exam will be eligible for Mains exam. Today I am writing 12 Days Study Plan for SBI PO Preliminary exam. In case you have any query then comment below.

Pre-requisites

  • Read The Hindu or The Indian Express for at least 1 hour
  • Learn tables for upto 40
  • Learn squares for numbers upto 40

Day 1

Vocabulary - Take 1-8 Vocabulary quizzes. Research about all the words online.

Syllogism - This is the easiest part, so we are doing it first. There are few shortcut formulas but I recommend you to stick to Venn diagram method, it's better.

Time and Work - There are methods to do questions from this chapter. First one is Efficiency method and second one is Traditional method. Some questions can be solved quickly with Efficiency method while some questions can be solved quickly with Traditional methods. You can use both method, practice at least 50 questions so the you choose right method in the exam.

Day 2

Profit and loss - This is one of the easiest chapter. You will find just 1 or 2 questions from this chapter. There are 5-6 kinds of questions in this. You can easily do this chapter within an hour.

Simple and Compound interest - You will find 1-2 questions from this chapter. There are hardly 7-8 types of questions. You can check those questions from my ebook bundle. 


Vocabulary - Take  9-16 Vocabulary quizzes. Research about all the words online.

Time, Speed and Distance

Data Interpretation (Charts) - To solve DI sets, you need to have fast calculation speed. It's not a secret. I shared few Calculation tricks here.

Day 3

Vocabulary - Take  17-24 Vocabulary quizzes. Research about all the words online.

Data interpretation (Tables) - You will be asked to do lots of complicated calculations here. There is no shortcut technique. While I have shared a trick here.

Day 4

Vocabulary - Take  25-35 Vocabulary quizzes. Research about all the words online.

Grammar - Read grammar digest, download here

Data interpretation (Double Diagram) - You won't find a single diagram/chart DI set in SBI PO Preliminary exam. There will be double diagram sets. In double diagram sets, one chart/graph/table is related to another graph/chart/table and you need to find required output out of them.

Day 5

Vertical seating arrangement - This is the simplest form of seating arrangement questions. There may be a question set from "floor of building" type of questions.

Day 6

Circular seating arrangements - There will be at least one questions set from Circular seating arrangements. I have shared a trick to solve these questions here.

Day 7

Series - There are hardly 5-6 techniques for this chapter. I have already shared the techniques here.

Reasoning puzzles - Blood relations, Problems based on ages, Direction test. Practice as many as you can.

Day 8

Inequalities - This is one of the easy question types from Reasoning section. Never skip these type of questions. Read my notes for Inequalities here.

Day 9

Solve 3 SBI PO Prelim Model paper. After checking your performance, solve every question.

Tips

  • Don't rush to model papers and test series. First complete and revise your syllabus.
  • Read newspapers and online magazines at least for 2 hours everyday.
  • Read and revise Quantitative Aptitude formulae
  • Practice every question type
  • Learn tables up to 40 (That's really important)
  • While in exam, skip questions in which you are not comfortable
  • Avoid Kiran Prakshan and Disha books. Also avoid All-in-one books
