LIC AAO Prelims Exam Analysis

LIC Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) is one of the most sought-after recruitments in the insurance industry. Several aspirants are burning candles at both ends to get a seat for themselves in this prestigious insurance/banking company. 05th May is the first phase of this exam, i.e., (Phase-I) Prelims. Many students appeared for this exam and the competition will be very tough this time. Therefore, it is necessary that one gets aware about the type of questions asked in the exam so that you get an idea about how to plan your strategy to attempt the questions in the exam and manage your time accordingly. 

This year there is the sectional timing of 20 minutes in the Prelims Exam, it's important for all insurance/banking aspirants to go through the review once. Exam analysis and review can help the aspirants who are yet to appear in upcoming shifts of LIC AAO Prelims to get an idea of the difficulty level and expected the pattern of questions in Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language sections. The examination held in this shift was of Easy to Moderate level. The order of occurrence of sections was the English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

LIC  AAO Exam Analysis: Section-wise Analysis

*English Language section is qualifying in nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for ranking. So, marks of English language section will not be taken into account for calculating Good Attempts.

The order of occurrence of  each section was as follows:

  • Reasoning Ability
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Language

Quantitative Aptitude (Moderate)

The level of Quantitative Aptitude section was Moderate because 15 questions were based on word problems (Miscellaneous). There were 2 sets of Data Interpretations namely:
  • Line-Graph
  • Tabular DI

NOTE: Minimum qualifying marks in Quantitative Aptitude section is 18 (16 for SC/ST).

*English Language (Easy-Moderate)

English section was easy to moderate. There was one set of Reading Comprehension with 08 questions out of which 3 questions were based on Vocabs. The passage of the RC was based on  Impact of Artificial Intelligence on society.

*The English Language section is qualifying in nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for ranking. Minimum qualifying marks is 10 (9 for SC/ST). 

Reasoning Ability (Easy-Moderate)

The level of reasoning section was also Easy. There were 4 sets of puzzles and Seating Arrangement, following are the types
  • Linear Sitting Arrangement (9 people, all are in the queue)
  • Box-based puzzle (8 boxes)
  • Random Puzzle (9 people, 3 cities)
  • Parrel Sitting Arrangement (7 people each side, north-south)
