EPFO Assistant Exam Pattern 2019: Detailed Prelims & Mains Pattern

Dear Students, EPFO has announced vacancies for the post of Assistant. The total number of vacant posts this year is 280 and the preliminary examination for the recruitment process is scheduled to be held on 30th July 2019 and 31st July 2019. The pattern of the EPFO prelims and mains exam is akin to the ones of other banking and insurance examinations. The candidates will have to attempt three sections viz. English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability in a specified period of time which is 20 minutes for each of the three sections. EPFO Assistant 2019 Examination Pattern :

Phase-1: Prelims Examination:

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks is conducted online. This test is of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections(with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Phase –I is qualifying in nature and marks will not be reckoned for final merit.

For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one fourth of the mark assigned to that

The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase-2 in the ratio of 1:10 about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase-1.

Phase-2: Mains Examination:

Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests is online. Candidates have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test is administered.

The marks obtained in Phase -2 will be considered for final selection

A Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination): There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
