The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is going to release new Rs. 20 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. The new Rs. 20 note will be “greenish yellow” in colour. This new note bears the signature of present govrnor of RBI, Shaktikanta Das. Apart from the motif of Ellora caves, the note would also carry common features like Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait, the Ashoka pillar and Swachh Bharat logo.Dimension of this new note will be 63 mm x 129 mm. Here are the major highlights of the newly introduced Rs. 20 note.

“All the banknotes in the denomination of Rs 20 issued by the Reserve Bank in the earlier series will continue to be legal tender,” RBI announced in a statement.
