Q1. The average age of some males and 15 females is 18 years. The sum of the ages of 15 females is 240 years and average age of males is 20 years. Find the number of males.

Solution:
Let there are n no. of males
∴ (n + 15) × 18 = 240 + 20n
⇒ n = 15

Q2. The difference between the present age of Arun and Deepak is 14 years. Seven years ago the ratio of their ages was 5 : 7 respectively. What is Deepak’s present age ?

Let Deepak’s present age = (7x + 7) years
Arun’s present age = (5x + 7) years
ATQ,
7x – 5x = 14
x = 7
