Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. It becomes very important to learn ample amount of words for the upcoming Government Job Exams. You can learn new words daily from our Daily Word List . Here is a list of words from daily Editorials. Learn the words and make your own sentences on the basis of the given word list.
1. SUPINE (adjective): लापरवाह
Meaning: failing to act or protest as a result of moral weakness or indolence.
Synonyms: spineless, pliant, submissive, inactive.
Antonyms: proactive, fecund, vivacious, tenacious.
Usage: My brother-in-law is a lazy fellow who will sleep with his head up in a supine position all day long.

2. ECHELON (noun) विभाग
Meaning: a level or rank in an organization, a profession, or society.
Synonyms: status, rank, grade, stratum.
Antonyms:  slope, unemployment, unsettle.
Usage: The prominent college ranks among the top echelon of schools in the nation.

3. HURL (verb) वेग से फेंकना
Meaning:  throw or impel (someone or something) with great force.
Synonyms: fling, cast, project, propel.
Antonyms: dawdle, dally, amble, plod.
Usage: Pitchers will hurl the baseball at the catchers in a baseball game which will usually get clocked at a 100 miles per hour.

4. REDACT (verb) संपादित करना
Meaning: edit (text) for publication.
Synonyms: correct, rectify, repair, fix.
Antonyms: befoul, deteriorate, diminish, hinder.
Usage: Some of the conclusions in the report have been redacted.

5. STODGY (adjective) घिसा पिटा
Meaning: Dull and uninspired; lacking originality or excitement
Synonyms: uninteresting, dreary, uninspired, monotonous.
Antonyms: exciting, creative, breathtaking, enthralling.
Usage: Most of my students used informal, asymmetrical balance, as formal balance can seem stodgy and dull.

6. MINGLE: (verb) आपस में मिलना
Meaning: mix or cause to mix together.
Synonyms: blend, alloy, admix, coalesce.
Antonyms: divide, unmix, separate, disjoin.
Usage: The spies decided to mingle in with the crowd and see if they could find the killer.

7. WOO (verb) प्रीति करना
Meaning: seek the favor, support, or custom of.
Synonyms: chase, pursue, ingratiate,
Antonyms: deter, affront, repulse, reject.
Usage: Political parties have roped in Bollywood stars only to woo the young.

8. NEXUS (noun) कड़ी
Meaning: a connection or series of connections linking two or more things.
Synonyms: junction, intersection, link, linkage.
Antonyms: detachment, division, partition, split.
Usage: Along with examining the major political issues of the day, his new column will focus on the increasingly controversial nexus between business and politics.

9. CONFLATE (verb) मिलाना
Meaning: combine (two or more sets of information, texts, ideas, etc.) into one.
Synonyms: amalgamate, converge, unify, fuse.
Antonyms: divide, part, separate, rupture.
Usage: To conflate art and science, teachers must design activities that blend the two.

10. PERAMBULATE (verb): इधर-उधर टहलना
Meaning: to travel by foot for exercise or pleasure
Synonyms: saunter, stroll, tramp, meander.
Antonyms: run, sprint, ride, dawdle.
Usage: They decided to take a short cut and perambulate over the large hill.
