Hello Readers,

I am Santosh and I belong to Vizag. I completed my B. Tech in Chemical Engineering in 2015 and got placed in a reputed core company where I worked for 2 years. After calling it quits, I started preparing for bank exams. Within a month I was able to grasp the exposure required to face bank exams from BankersAdda by watching their daily videos and attempting mock tests. I kept on improving gradually clearing prelims and then mains. Finally, the Interview phase has approached. This was my first interview. Let me share the same in detail.

Suggestion: Be prepared technically as well as mentally and have some good food before appearing for interview.

I reached the venue at 08:00 AM and had couple of bananas as I didn't have enough time for breakfast. Security personnel checked our call letters, took our Signatures and Thumb Prints on attendance sheets. Later we were told to go to 7th Floor for Biometric & Document Verification. I was the 21st candidate in my panel (I) which comprised 24 others. The time was 9:00 am. The document verification official was very keen in verifying each detail on our documents and rejected a female candidate due to some error in her DOB. My Biometric & Document Verification was finished by 11:30 AM and was asked to go to 6th Floor for Interview. After waiting for 2 long hours, it was my turn. My Interview started at 1:30 pm which lasted for only 5 Minutes.

Panel I: 5 Members
Total Members: (4 Male, 1 Female)

Me: Answered.

M1: What is priority sector lending?
Me: Answered in detail. But was stuck at 40% of ______
M2: 40% of adjusted net bank credit.

M1: Why banking?
Me: Answered. They were pleased.

M1: What is the difference between core sector and banking sector in terms of man power handling? (Asked because I mentioned my responsibilities at my previous workplace)
Me: Thought for a while and answered diplomatically.
M1: Good.

M2: How can you differentiate between Small and Medium Farmers?
Me: Answered but not perfectly. Apologized.

F1: What are the functions of RBI?
Me: Answered.

F1: What are some schemes for MSMEs by government?
Me: Couldn't recollect but answered the one which was presented in the interim budget the day before.

M3: Who announces budget?
Me: Answered.

M3: Can you mention some people who handled finance portfolios and later went on to became prime ministers?
Me: Totally Puzzled. Didn't expect such one and gave up. But the panel encouraged and asked to recollect from past terms of our PM's. Mentioned some people. (They smiled in appreciation).

Panel: All the best.
Me: Thanked everyone and left the room.

I was relieved by my performance. It was a good maiden one. Couldn't ask for anything better. But there is a lot of room for improvement. Hope everything goes well. I hope this may do some help in your preparation. Thank you so much and All the best.

All The Best Santosh Taddi!
