Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. YEARN - लालायित होना
Meaning:desire strongly or persistently
Synonyms:crave, desire
Antonyms:abjure, dislike
Example:Despite his great commercial success he still yearns for critical approval.

2. VAGUE- अज्ञात
Meaning:lacking clarity or distinctness
Synonyms:faint, unclear
Antonyms:clear, certain
Example:The patient had complained of vague pains and backache.

3.UNCANNY - अलौकिक
Meaning:surpassing the ordinary or normal
Synonyms:astonishing, exceptional
Antonyms:boring, common
Example:He has an uncanny ability to pick a winner.

4.TENACIOUS - दृढ़
Meaning:stubbornly unyielding
Synonyms:determined, steadfast
Antonyms:afraid, unreliable
Example:There has been tenacious local opposition to the new airport.

5.RHETORICAL - आलंकारिक
Meaning:relating to using language effectively
Synonyms:articulate, vocal
Antonyms:concise
Example:In the end, we have only neutered rhetorical forms to stand as theories, and random design novelties to stand as practice.

6.QUELL - जीतना
Meaning:suppress or crush completely
Synonyms:conquer, crush
Antonyms:lose, release
Example:This latest setback will have done nothing to quell the growing doubts about the future of the club.

7.PIQUE- मनमुटाव
Meaning:a sudden outburst of anger
Synonyms:annoyance, grudge
Antonyms:delight, pleasure
Example:This latest setback will have done nothing to quell the growing doubts about the future of the club.

8.MELANCHOLY - उदासी
Meaning:a constitutional tendency to be gloomy and depressed
Synonyms:gloomy, sorrowful
Antonyms:bright, cheerful
Example:Larry is in a very melancholy mood.

9.LUCID- सुबोध
Meaning:easily understandable
Synonyms:distinct, clear
Antonyms:cloudy, confused
Example:She gave a clear and lucid account of her plans for the company's future.

10.LETHARGIC- निष्क्रिय
Meaning:deficient in alertness or activity
Synonyms:dull, passive
Antonyms:active, alert
Example:I was feeling tired and lethargic.
