Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1.MANDATORY : अनिवार्य
Meaning:made necessary, usually by law or by some other rule
Synonyms:necessary, essential
Antonyms:secondary, nonessential
Example:Athletes must undergo a mandatory drugs test before competing in the championship.

2.PREJUDICE : पूर्वाग्रह
Meaning:an unfair and unreasonable opinion or feeling, especially when formed without enough thought or knowledge
Synonyms:bias, bigotry
Antonyms:fairness, esteem
Example:Laws against racial prejudice must be strictly enforced.

3.ABJECT : अधम
Meaning:the state of being extremely unhappy, poor, unsuccessful, etc.
Synonyms:unhappy, wretched
Antonyms:happy, joyous
Example:This policy has turned out to be an abject failure.

4.ABATE : कम ताकतवर
Meaning:to become less strong
Synonyms:diminish, dwindle
Antonyms:develop, enlarge
Example:The fighting in the area shows no sign of abating.

5.ADJOURN : स्थगित होना
Meaning:to have a pause or rest during a formal meeting or trial
Synonyms:delay, postpone
Antonyms:advance, continue
Example:The meeting was adjourned until Tuesday.

6.BEHOLD : निहारना
Meaning:to see or look at someone or something
Synonyms:catch, contemplate
Antonyms:discard, disregard
Example:The new bridge is an incredible sight to behold.

7.CONDONE : गलत व्यवहार को स्वीकार करना या अनुमति देना
Meaning:to accept or allow behaviour that is wrong
Synonyms:excuse, forget
Antonyms:attend regard
Example:If the government is seen to condone violence, the bloodshed will never stop.

8.DEDUCE : परिणाम निकालना
Meaning:to reach an answer or a decision by thinking carefully about the known facts
Synonyms:deduct, conclude
Antonyms:ignore, leave
Example:We cannot deduce very much from these figures

9.MALICE : विद्वेष
Meaning:the wish to harm or upset other people
Synonyms:animosity, enmity
Antonyms:friendliness, respect
Example:There certainly wasn't any malice in her comments.

10.TRIUMPH : विजय
Meaning:a very great success, achievement, or victory
Synonyms:victory, achievement
Antonyms:defeat
Example:The signing of the agreement was a personal triumph for the prime minister.
