Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1.STAGNANT : ठहरा हुआ
Meaning:not growing or developing
Synonyms:inactive, static
Antonyms:active, moving
Example:Recently, the company's sales have been declining or stagnant.

2.VACANT : रिक्त
Meaning:not filled or occupied
Synonyms:bare, unused
Antonyms:full, busy
Example:The hospital has no vacant beds.

3.CYNICAL : मानवद्वेषी
Meaning:believing that people are motivated purely by self-interest
Synonyms:contemptuous,sneering
Antonyms:hopeful, trusting
Example: I've always been deeply cynical about politicians.

4.BENIGN : सौम्य
Meaning:pleasant and kind
Synonyms:gentle, friendly
Antonyms:harsh, bad
Example:The policeman smiled benignly at the motorist.

5.CULT : पंथ
Meaning:a religious group
Synonyms:band, group
Antonyms:disbelief
Example:Their son ran away from home and joined a religious cult.

6.INFIRM : अशक्त
Meaning:ill or needing care, especially for long periods and often because of old age
Synonyms:ailing, ill
Antonyms:healthy, strong
Example:She was too elderly and infirm to remain at home.

7.TRACT : भूभाग
Meaning:a large area of land
Synonyms:estate, expanse
Antonyms:whole
Example:The house is surrounded by vast tracts of woodland.

8.RENDER : प्रतिपादन करना
Meaning:to cause someone or something to be in a particular state
Synonyms:deliver, cause
Antonyms:hold, keep
Example:Billions have been spent, but not one gallon of the estimated 54m gallons of waste has been rendered harmless.

9.CONFER : विचार-विमर्श करना
Meaning:to exchange ideas on a particular subject, often in order to reach a decision on what action to take
Synonyms:advise, argue
Antonyms:refuse, take
Example:I need some time to confer with my lawyer.

10.NEGOTIATE : बातचीत करना
Meaning:to have formal discussions with someone in order to reach an agreement with them
Synonyms:debate, consult
Antonyms:contend, deny
Example:The government has refused to negotiate with the strikers.
