  • Inter-State - existing or taking place between states
  • Disparity - a difference between things
  • Address - to give attention to or deal with a matter or problem
  • Catch up - to improve in order to reach the same standard or rate as someone or something
  • Absolute - very great, or complete
  • Convergence - a situation in which people or things gradually become the same or very similar
  • Distant - far away from the place where you are
  • Widen - to (cause something to) become larger or to include a larger amount or number

  • Impact - an effect, or an influence
  • Breach - to break a law, rule, or agreement
  • Deficit - the difference between the amount of money or goods that a country or business has and the amount that it has spent or that it owes
  • Profligate - wasting money or other things
  • Differentiate - to see or show a difference between things
  • Variable - something that can change and affect the result of a situation
  • Uphold - to show that you support something such as an idea by what you say or do
  • Marketplace - the activity of buying and selling
  • Thrive - to become very successful, happy, or healthy
  • Crucial - something that is crucial is extremely important because it has a major effect on the result of something
  • Determinant - something that controls or decides how something else will develop or what result it will have
  • Long-run - not immediately but at some time in the future
  • Prospect - the possibility that something will happen, especially something good

  • Fool-proof - a foolproof method, plan, or system is so well designed that it cannot go wrong or is certain to succeed
  • Weighty - serious and important
  • Far from - used for saying that the real situation is the opposite of what you mention
  • Phenotype - the qualities or features of a living thing that are the result of the way that its genes and the environment have affected each other
  • Trait - a particular quality in someone’s character
  • Predict - to say what you think will happen in the future
  • Ultimate - happening at the end of a process or activity
  • Outcome - the final result of a process, meeting, activity etc
  • Uncertainty - a nervous feeling that you have because you think bad things might happen
  • Evident - easy to see, notice, or understand
  • Immunise - to prevent someone from getting a particular illness by putting a substance into their body, especially using a needle
  • Tinkering - to make small changes to something in order to improve or repair it
  • Susceptible - easily influenced or affected by something
  • Trade-off - the fact that you can only have one of two things, or the degree to which you can have both
  • Abundant - existing or available in large quantities
  • Intervention - a situation in which someone becomes involved in a particular issue, problem etc in order to influence what happens
  • Defensible - a defensible belief or idea is one that you can support well against criticism
  • Advisory - an official warning
  • Go awry - to not happen in the way that was hoped or planned
