Directions: (1-5) Study the following bar graph carefully and answer the given question. The following bar graph shows the no. of students in different branches of 5 engineering college in 2016. 

Q1. What is the ratio of IT students from college C and D together to mechanical students from college B and E together in 2016.

Required ratio =(80+60)/(90+140)=140/230=14 :23

Q2. If 25% IT students in college A and C in 2017 changed branch from IT to mechanical, then IT students are how much percent of mechanical student in 2017 in college A and C together.

Average of students of all branches of college A = (60+100+150)/3=310/3
Average of students of all branches of college C = (140+80+120)/3=340/3
Required difference =340/3-310/3 =30/3=10

Q4. If ratio of boy to girl student in each college is 7 : 3, 3 : 2 and 4 : 1 for IT, civil and mechanical respectively, then find the difference of total female student from college B to total male students of college E

Female student from college B =120×3/10+50×2/5+90×1/5
= 36 + 30 + 18 = 74 Male students from college E =90×7/10+140×4/5+70×3/5
= 63 + 112 + 42 = 217 Required difference = 217 – 74 = 143

Q5. Total civil students are how much percent less than total IT students in these five colleges

Total IT students = 100 + 120 + 80 + 60 + 90 = 450
Total civil students = 60 + 50 + 140 + 70 + 70 = 390
Required percent =(450-390)/450×100 =13⅓%
