SSC Junior Translator Recruitment 2018 : Apply Now

Dear Students, In the interest of the candidates, it has been decided by the Commission to extend the closing date for receipt of online applications for the Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Examination, 2018 by one day i.e. up to 20-11-2018 (5.00 PM). Candidates are advised to go through all parameters under different paras and sub-paras mentioned below and satisfy themselves about their eligibility in terms of age limit, essential qualifications, etc. for the post before applying.

Important Dates:

Making online fee payment: 21-11-2018 (5.00 PM)
Generation of offline Challan: 21-11-2018 (5.00 PM)
Payment through Challan (during working hours of Bank): 26-11-2018



Age Limit for SSC Translator:

Not Exceeding 30 years.
Age will be calculated as on 01-01-2019.

Note: Age-relaxation permissible beyond the upper age limit-
  • SC/ST: 5 years 
  • OBC: 3 years

Educational Qualification for SSC Translator :

For post codes ‘A’to ‘E’
Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
OR
Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
AND

Post "A" to "D"-> Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

For post codes ‘E’-> Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

For post code ‘F’ (Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT):
Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level,
OR
Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)
Note: Candidates must ensure that they have studied English and Hindi as main subjects in all the three years of Graduation pass course.

For post code ‘G’ (Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute)
(i) Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
 OR
(ii) Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable: Two years experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institution


Fee Details for SSC Translator:

Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs. one hundred only)
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
  • Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card.


Selection Procedure For SSC Translator Recruitment 2018 :

1. Paper 1 [Computer Based Mode Examination]:-

Note:
  • There will be negative marking of ¼ mark (0.25) for each wrong answer. 
  • Normalization: Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit.
2. Paper-II [Descriptive Paper]:-

  • This paper will contain two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, 
  • An Essay each in Hindi and English, to test the candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
  • The level of the paper will be consistent with the educational qualifications prescribed.

3. Document Verification:
Candidates will be required to produce all documents in original for verification at the time of document verification.  Detailed options for various posts and Departments will be taken from candidates either online or at the time of document verification.

Final Selection for SSC Translator -> Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I+Paper-II and the preference of Posts/ Departments exercised by them at the time of Document Verification.
