A National Park is an area of countryside, or occasionally sea or fresh water, protected by the state
or government for the enjoyment of the general public and the preservation of wildlife, flora and fauna. National parks are put under Category II of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). India's first national park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, now known as
Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand. As of now, there are 103 national parks in India.
