Quantitative Aptitude for IBPS PO Prelims Exam: 24th September 2018

Numerical Ability or Quantitative Aptitude Section has given heebie-jeebies to the aspirants when they appear for a banking examination. As the level of every other section is only getting complex and convoluted, there is no doubt that this section, too, makes your blood run cold. The questions asked in this section are calculative and very time-consuming. But once dealt with proper strategy, speed, and accuracy, this section can get you the maximum marks in the examination. Q1. The difference between the outside and inside surface of a cylindrical metallic pipe, 14 cm long, is 44 cm^2. If the pipe is made of 99 cm^3 of metal. Find the outer radii of the pipe ?

Q2. Cost price of two transistors is same. One is sold at a profit of 15% and the other for Rs. 1500 more than the first. If the net profit is 30%. Find the cost price of each transistor.

Q3. Profit on selling 10 pencils equals selling price of 3 pen. While loss on selling 10 pen equals selling price of 4 pencils. Also profit percent-age equals to the loss percentage and cost of a pencil is half of the cost of a pen. What is the ratio of selling price of pencil to the selling price of a pen?

Q4. Several litres of honey drawn off a 54 litre container full of honey and equal amount of water added. Again, the same volume of the mixture was drawn off and replaced by water. As a result, the container contained 24 litres of pure honey. How much the honey was drawn off initially?

Q5. The simple interest on a sum of money will be Rs. 300 after four years. In the next 6 years principal becomes four times, what will be the total interest at the end of 10th year?

Q15. I 3x + 7y = 18
    II 9x – 2y = 8
