The celebration of Eid ul-Adha is one of the holiest celebrations in the Islamic religion. Meaning ‘Feast of the Sacrifice’, Eid al-Adha is celebrated to honour Ibrahim (Abraham) for his dedication and commitment to the demands of Allah.
Eid-al-Adha, popularly known as 'Bakri-Eid', is a four-day festival which commemorates the Pilgrimage of Hajj. It is the second most significant festival celebrated by the Muslim community across the world. Eid ul-Adha lasts four days and the dates of the holy celebration are determined each year by the Islamic lunar calendar. Eid ul-Adha marks the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and remembering the sacrifice of Abraham.
