Winners Who Cared for Nothing but...GOALS

June 1, 2018

Every individual on this earth, whether rich or poor, strong or weak, has to go through various ups and downs in his/her life. Everyone has to face various challenges in their lives. Some succumb to the atrocities in life and those who take up the challenges positively are the ones who become an inspiration for others. We all have certain capabilities in us and the only need is to realise them and work upon them.

There are many inspirational tales depicting the courage and strength of many inidividuals who have converted their disabilities into strengths and have created motivational and inspirational vision for others in life. 'Winners Who Cared for Nothing but...GOALS' is a series of articles where we share with you rags to riches stories of people who never stopped trying. This is the fourth article of the series and here we will share the story of a hero, who needs no introduction because he had earned such big name that everyone knows about him. He is none other than STEVE JOBS, the man who created Apple. Jobs was a very unique individual right from the beginning. He was the man who changed technology forever.

Steve was born to Abdul Fattah Jandali and Joanne Carole Schieble but was adopted by a working class couple, Paul and Clara Jobs. Steve jobs was always mesmerised by the power and intricacy of computers. He used to work with his mechanic father in the family garage, taking apart cars and putting them back together. He developed a strong love for machines. He learnt from his father how important it is to pay attention to every fine detail, which is the mantra that makes Apple different from other competitors.

.Jobs never really enjoyed school. Eventually, he got admission into a college. His parents were not able to afford his studies and he realized that his parents were spending their entire life savings on his education that he did not deem worthwhile so he made the decision to drop out. But he continued attending the classes that interested him. One of them was calligraphy. Then Jobs joined Atari, a video game manufacturing company.

Steve Jobs met Steve Wozniak and this was the revolutionary point. They started with the ‘blue box’; a digital device that could be used to make long distance calls for free. This project became a big success became their motivation to take on big companies with their inventions. Jobs and Wozniak worked on the ambitious project relentlessly and this led to the birth of the first-ever Apple machine Jobs was worth $1 million when he was 23, $10 million at 24 and crossed $100 million by the time he was 25.

He was the one of the youngest people to be featured on the Forbes list of the country’s richest people; a big feat without inheriting any family wealth. But then came the biggest setback of his career. After an internal discussion, he was fired from the Macintosh group. Despite this he never gave up.

He was passionate towards his work and his desire went on in helping him establish his new company, NeXT, but he could not hit on high sales due to the high prices of the machines. Later, NeXT merged with Apple to give us the iOS we have today. But Jobs wasn’t satisfied. He wanted to build a bigger empire. So, he invested in a startup called Graphics Group, now known as Pixar. Though NeXT and Pixar had great success but even then Apple managed to take over. They offered Jobs again for being the CEO of Apple, this time as they believed Jobs was the most deserving CEO of Apple. And then Jobs made Apple come back with a blast again with it’s stylish innovative products like iMac.

“STEVE JOBS” The name is so incredibly inspiring and intimidating at the same time. Being a college drop out, he became such a successful man in the world. His story is truly an inspiring story for those who follow their passion and become successful no matter what the circumstances be.

If you are passionate about something then always remember that if one door closes, many more will be open for you. You just need to follow your passion.
