➤ 1st Ever International Kala Mela Inaugurated in New Delhi


i. The First ever International Kala Mela was inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi.
ii. The International Kala Mela has been organised by the Lalit Kala Akademi in partnership with IGNCA of the Ministry of Culture. More than 800 artists from across the world took part in the Festival.

i. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport of Mumbai sets record with 980 flights in 24 hours or almost one flight every minute.
ii. With this, the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport bettered its own feat of 974 flights in 24 hours, recorded in December 2017.
iii. While Gatwick, the U.K.’s second-largest airport, remains the most efficient single-runway airport in the world.

i. Shubhankar Sharma has emerged as the best Indian golfer in the world, grabbing the 72nd position in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). He has won the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
ii. Sharma has enjoyed a golden run over the past few months on the international stage, clinching his first European Tour win at the Joburg Open.
  • Dustin Johnson from the USA is currently the World Number 1 in Official World Golf Ranking.
➤  Jhulan Goswami 1st Woman in the World to Take 200 ODI Wickets

i. Indian women's cricket team pacer Jhulan Goswami has become the first woman in the world to take 200 wickets in ODI cricket.
ii. Goswami achieved the feat playing in her 166th ODI against South Africa. Goswami had become the leading wicket-taker in women's ODI in May 2017, overtaking former Australian pacer Cathryn Fitzpatrick's record of 180 wickets.
