Bombay High Court Recruitment 2018: 

Dear Students, High Court of Bombay has released recruitment notices for 8291 vacancies for the post of Stenographers (L.G.), Junior Clerks and Peon/Hamal in various District Courts. In this article you will get to know eligibility criteria, exam pattern etc.

Note: Dates are subject to change/modification if necessary, subject to approval of the High Court.
  • If any day in the above table happens to be a day onwhich such activity cannot be conducted, the activity shall be conducted on the next day and the calendar shall stand appropriately adjusted, subject to approval of High Court.

Educational Qualification:
  • Candidate must passed 10th Standard  examination from any board/institute recognised by the government.
For Stenographer (L.G.):
  • Candidate  minimum   passed   S.S.C.   Board   Examination.   
  • Preference   will, however,   be   given   to   Graduate   and   Law   Graduates   of   any Recognized University in any faculty.
  • must   have   passed   Government   Commercial   Certificate Examination, or examination conducted by Government Board or I.T.I. for
  1. English Shorthand speed of 100 w.p.m. 
  2. minimum English typing speed of 40 w.p.m. 
  3. Marathi Typing with speed of 30 w.p.m. and 
  4. Marathi Shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m.
  • must possess Computer knowledge Certificate
For Junior Clerk:
  • Candidate  minimum   passed   S.S.C.   Board   Examination.   
  • Preference   will, however,   be   given   to   Graduate   and   Law   Graduates   of   any Recognized University in any faculty.
  • must   have   passed   Government   Commercial   Certificate Examination, or examination conducted by Government Board or I.T.I. for 
  1. English typing speed of 40 w.p.m. 
  2. Marathi Typing with speed of 30 w.p.m. 
  • must possess Computer knowledge Certificate
For Peon/Hamal:
  • A candidate must have passed minimum 7th Standard with good physique

Note for all posts: Candidate should not have total number of living children  more than 02 due to the children born after 28.03.2006.

Age Limit:
  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 38 years
  • For SC/ST/OBC, Maximum Age: 43 years
  • For Physically handicapped, Maximum Age: 45 years

Application Fees: No Fee

Selection Process: The selection / appointments will be made strictly in the order of merit on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in all examinations and interview.

For Stenographer (L.G.):

1. Shorthand Test:
The candidate shall have to appear in the Speed Test of 20 marks each in shorthand in English and local language.
2. Typing Test:
English: 20 marks
Local Language: 20 marks

3. Interview: 20 marks

For Junior Clerk:

1. Typing Test of Local Language
The local language typing test carrying 20 marks shall comprise of 300 words to be typed by the candidates within 10 minutes (30 wpm) on Computers.
2. Typing Test of English Language
The English typing test on Computer carrying 20 marks shall comprise of 400 words to be typed by the candidates within 10 minutes (40 wpm).
Note: 1 mark should   be   deducted   for   5  mistakes.   Omissions   would   be   treated   as mistakes. In  spelling the same word many times, if errors are committed, then it would be treated as only one mistake.
3. Interview

For Peon/Hamal:


1. Activeness test :­  5 Marks
2. The test of cleaning: 5 marks
