About Sahitya Akademi Awards
Established in 1954, Sahitya Akademi Awards is a literary honoured conferred annually on writers of the most outstanding books of literary merit published in any of the 24 major Indian languages. The award recognizes and promote excellence in Indian writing and also acknowledge new trends.
The award comprises a plaque and a cash prize of 100000 rupees. The plaque awarded by the Sahitya Akademi was designed by the Indian film-maker Satyajit Ray.

National Bravery Awards
- The National Bravery Awards are a set of awards given annually to about 25 Indian children for "meritorious acts of bravery against all odds."
- The awards are given by the Government of India and the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW).
