The summit essentially aims to support women entrepreneurs and foster economic growth globally. Also, this year the summit will primarily focus on sectors such as Energy & Infrastructure, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Financial Technology & Digital Economy and Media & Entertainment.

Highlights of GES 2017
PM Modi inaugurated the event by launching the GES logo on indigenously developed robot Mitra said, “The theme, ‘women first, prosperity for all’ makes this edition of GSE stand out. The daughter and advisor of US President, Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump's presence is the major highlight of the summit. She visited India for the first time. She started the day with a panel discussion titled, 'We can do it! Innovations in workforce development and skills training'. The panelists on the discussion were Chanda Kochhar, MD and CEO, ICICI Bank, Cherie Blair. The session was moderated by Karen Quintos of Dell.
