Current Affairs for SSC JE 2017: Bullet Points

Dear Readers, Staff Selection Commission will hold the examination from 5th January 2018 to 08th January 2018  in a computer based pattern. In this exam, 50 questions will be asked from General Awareness (GA) section. We are providing important currents affairs for this, it will help you to score good in GA section. The facility of on-line application (including payment of fees through debit card) will be available upto 17-11-2017 (upto 5.00 PM).

⦿ Asian champions G. Lakshmanan and P. U. Chitra won gold medals in the athletics events of the fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

⦿ Tamil Nadu’s Lakshmanan won the men’s 3000m while Kerala’s Chitra, who was not cleared by the national body Athletics Federation of India for the recent World Championships in London despite making the cut, took the women’s 1500m title.

⦿ The Himachal Pradesh government on launched first-of-its-kind electric bus service in the 51km-long stretch road between Manali and Rohtang Pass. The bus service was flagged off by State Transport Minister GS Bali.

हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार ने मनाली और रोहतांग पास के बीच 51 किमी लंबी, अपनी तरह की पहली इलेक्ट्रिक बस सेवा शुरू की. राज्य परिवहन मंत्री जीएस बाली ने बस सेवा को झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया.

⦿ With this initiative, the Himachal Pradesh state has become the first in the world to ply electric buses at an altitude of 13 thousand feet.
इस पहल के साथ, राज्य 13 हजार फुट की ऊंचाई पर इलेक्ट्रिक बसों को चलाने वाला दुनिया का पहला राज्य बन गया.

⦿ The main objective behind the initiative is to curb carbon emission which is resulting in melting of glaciers in the Himalayas.

⦿ Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the 6th edition of the four-day international textile and apparel fair, 'VASTRA' in Jaipur.
केंद्रीय वस्त्र मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी और राजस्थान की मुख्यमंत्री वसुंधरा राजे ने जयपुर में चार दिवसीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वस्त्र एवं परिधान मेला, 'वस्त्र'(VASTRA) के छठे संस्करण का उद्घाटन किया.

⦿ FDI in textiles industry has tripled in 2016-17. Mudra Yojna has benefited the weaver's community and their incomes have shown a tremendous increase within 60 days from the date of loan availed. Skill development has also enhanced the quality of placements in the textile industry.
टेक्सटाइल उद्योग में प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश 2016-17 में तीन गुना बढ़ गया है. मुद्रा योजना ने बुनकर समुदाय को लाभ पहुंचाया है और उनकी आय में ऋण की तिथि से लेकर 60 दिनों के भीतर भारी वृद्धि देखने को मिली है. कौशल विकास ने वस्त्र उद्योग में संभावनाओ और नियुक्तियोंमें भी वृद्धि की है.
