Example:Besides the pleasant, dewypetrichor of the post-rain afternoon, there is no hope or way out of a four-hour ride with the enigmatic mumbler.

1. Dewy [doo-ee, dyoo-ee]

Adjective: moist with or as if with dew; having the quality of dew.
Synonyms: cloudy, dank, drizzly, misty, moist, muggy, saturated, soaked, sodden, soggy.
Antonyms: dry, arid, desiccated, dried, parched.

2. Petrichor [pe-trahy-kawr, ‐ker]

Noun: a distinctive scent, usually described as earthy, pleasant, or sweet, produced by rainfall on very dry ground.

3. Enigmatic [en-ig-mat-ik, ee-nig-]

Adjective: resembling an enigma, or a puzzling occurrence, situation, statement, person, etc.; perplexing; mysterious.
Synonyms: ambiguous, cryptic, obscure, dark, Delphian, doubtful, enigmatical, equivocal, incomprehensible, indecipherable.
Antonyms: clear, explicit, obvious, known, plain.

4. Mumbler [muhm-buh l-er]

Noun: that makes a low, indistinct utterance or sound.

Example: Encouraging results were achieved in laboratory studies by making the shiny surface of implants rough through etching.

5. Implant [verb ɪmˈplænt, -ˈplɑnt; noun ˈɪmˌplænt, -ˌplɑnt]

Noun (Medicine/Medical): any device or material, especially of an inert substance, used for repairing or replacing part of the body; medication or radioactive material inserted into tissue for sustained therapy; implantation.
Verb (used with object): to put or fix firmly; to plant securely.
Synonyms: embed, fix, instill, inculcate, root.

6. Etching [ˈɛtʃ ɪŋ]

Noun: the act or process of making designs or pictures on a metal plate, glass, etc., by the corrosive action of an acid instead of by a burin; an impression, as on paper, taken from an etched plate; the design so produced; a metal plate bearing such a design.
Example: Indeed, compliance with the treaty stipulation of a contribution of 2% of gross domestic product by individual states has been far from satisfactory, with the U.S. shouldering the bulk of the burden.

7. Compliance [kuh m-plahy-uh ns]

Noun: the act of conforming, acquiescing, or yielding, a tendency to yield readily to others, especially in a weak and subservient way; conformity; accordance.
Synonyms: conformity, consent, acquiescence, amenability, assent, complaisance, concession, concurrence, deference, docility, obedience.
Antonyms: difference, disagreement, refusal, disobedience, rebellion, resistance, defiance, denial, dissension.

8. Stipulation [stip-yuh-ley-shuh n]

Noun: a condition, demand, or promise in an agreement or contract; the act of stipulating.
Synonyms: arrangement, clause, obligation, precondition, provision, qualification, requirement, restriction, specification, agreement.
Antonyms: disagreement, implication, request, wish.

9. Shoulder [shohl-der]

verb (used with object): to assume as a responsibility; to push with or as if with the shoulder, especially roughly; to take upon, support, or carry on or as if on the shoulder or shoulders.
Verb (used without object): to push with or as if with the shoulder.
Noun: the part of each side of the body in humans, at the top of the trunk, extending from each side of the base of the neck to the region where the arm articulates with the trunk.
Synonyms: accept, assume, bear, carry, take on, take upon oneself.
Antonyms: deny, refuse.

Example: Gujarat government swung into damage control.

10. Swing [swing]

Verb: to cause to move to and fro, sway, or oscillate, as something suspended from above; to cause to move in alternate directions or in either direction around a fixed point, on an axis, or on a line of support, as a door on hinges.
Synonyms: curve, dangle, flap, fluctuate, hang, lurch, pitch, pivot, rotate.
Antonyms: stay, straighten, be still, remain, stabilize.
