- Debut - to be introduced to the public for the first time
- Reform - a change that is intended to correct a situation that is wrong or unfair, or make a system work more effectively
- Vibrant - energetic, exciting, and full of enthusiasm
- Derivative - a type of investment that will gain in value if the price of a product changes in an expected way
- Hedge - a way of protecting, controlling, or limiting something
- Volatility - liability to change rapidly and unpredictably, especially for the worse
- Realm - a particular area of knowledge, experience, interest etc
- Speculation - ideas or discussion about why something has happened or what might happen
- Regulator - a person or organization whose job is to be certain that companies, systems etc act fairly and follow rules
- Mull - to think carefully about something over a period of time
- Portfolio - all the investments that a person or company has made
- Concern - a feeling of worry about something, especially one that a lot of people have about an important issue
- Speculation - ideas or discussion about why something has happened or what might happen
- Regulate - to control an activity, process, or industry officially by using rules
- Outweigh - to be more important, useful, or valuable than something else
- Anticipating - to guess that something will happen, and be ready to deal with it
- Prospect - the possibility that something will happen
- Unjustified - not fair, or not based on any good reason
- Hasty - done in a hurry because you do not have much time
- Impose - to introduce something such as a new law or new system, and force people to accept
- Blanket ban - total / complete ban
- Circumstance - a fact or condition that affects a situation
- Monitoring - to regularly check something or watch someone in order to find out what is happening
- Framework - a set of principles, ideas etc that you use when you are forming your decisions and judgments
- Mitigation - a reduction in the harmful effects of something

- Wrest - to violently pull something away from someone
- Stronghold - a place where people fighting an enemy can defend or organize themselves
- Conflict - angry disagreement between people or groups
- Road map - a plan or set of instructions that makes it easier for someone to do something
- De facto - actual, even though not official
- Backed - supported
- Crushing blow - a major defeat
- Self-proclaimed - used for saying what a particular person, organization etc describes themselves as, even though other people might not agree
- Caliphate - an Islamic state, especially one ruled by a single religious and political leader
- Troops - soldiers, especially in large numbers
- Actor - a person or organization that takes part in a situation or process
- Counter - an action that you take in order to oppose or stop something or reduce its negative effect
- Aided by - supported by
- Crumble - to stop existing or being effective
- Propaganda - information, especially false information, that a government or organization spreads in order to influence people’s opinions and beliefs
- Beheading - to cut off someone’s head, especially as a punishment
- Shambles - something that is very badly organized and that does not operate effectively
- Insurgent - someone who belongs to a group of people fighting to take control of their country by force
- Proto-state - a political entity which does not represent a fully institutionalized or autonomous sovereign state
- Predecessor - the person who had a job or official position before someone else
- Retreat - if an army retreats, it moves away from a position because of danger or defeat
- Lone wolf - someone who likes to be or work alone
- Lethal - very dangerous and able to kill you
- Campaign - a series of actions intended to produce political or social change
- Chaotic - happening in a confused way and without any order or organization
- Coalition - a temporary union of different political parties that agree to form a government together
- Peshmerga - a nationalist Kurdish fighter / group
- Regime - a government that controls a country, especially in a strict or unfair way
- Autonomous - an autonomous state, region, or organization is independent and has the power to govern itself
- Prominence - the state of being important or well known
- Usher - to show someone where they should go
