When Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962, some of his students and friends requested him to let them celebrate his birthday. Mr. Radhakrishnan’s rejoinder to their call was, “I would be privileged if you celebrate my birthday as a tribute to all the teachers across the country, that is, Teachers' Day.” They could conjecture Mr. Radhakrishnan's the hidden love and respect for the teaching profession and since then, this day, 5th of September, has been observed as Teachers' Day in our country. They are the ones who let the education system in India run and provide our country with a quality education system. They put their heart and soul into building up a student’s career and help them fight the losing battles. Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to pay tribute and gratitude to not only the teachers but everyone who gave us the right guidance and put his/her continuous, selfless and precious efforts in molding our lives to come up in the world.
