Intelligence Bureau Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure 2017:

Intelligence Bureau (Ministry of Home Affairs) has recently released 1430 vacancies for Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II. Those who are preparing for SSC Exams, this is an another good opportunity because exam pattern of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II is same as SSC. In this article you will get to know about the exam pattern and selection procedure of this exam.

Selection Procedure:


There are total 5 stages in the selection process of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II:

  1. Tier-I Exam
  2. Tier-II Exam
  3. Interview
  4. Document Verification
  5. Medical Examination

Educational Qualification:


  • Candidates must complete Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a recognised university and have computer Knowledge.
  • Degree/Diploma etc. obtained through Open Universities/Distance education mode will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification unless it is recognized by Distance Education Council in terms of Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. 44, dated 01.03.1995 published in the Gazette of India dated 08.04.1995 for the relevant period when the candidate acquired the relevant qualification.
  • Those candidates, who are yet to get their degree, if called for interview, would be required to submit a proof of passing the degree examination on or before the closing date. Such proof would not be entertained if issued after the closing date on ground of late conduct of examination, delay in declaration of result or any other ground whatsoever. 

Age Criteria:

Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 27 Years.
Age Relaxation is applicable as per the rules of the Government of India.

Pay Scale:
Rs. 9,300 – Rs. 34, 800/– + Grade Pay Rs. 4200/- per month.(PB-2) [under revision as per recommendation of 7th C.P.C.]

IB Exam Pattern:



Tier-I


Tier-I exam contains 4 subjects which are similar to SSC Exam, so you don't have to study anything extra, your preparation of SSC CGL Exam will come handy. GA section is a bit tricky rest is easy. So focus on the GA section, you can follow our GA quizzes and Current Affairs notes. 

Date of Tier-I Exam: 15th October 2017
Admit Card will be available in September-October 2017

Some important points of Tier-I Exam:
  • There will be negative marking of  ¼  mark for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
  • No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.

Descriptive Paper

This Exam will contain Essay and English Comprehension & Precis Writing. 
Date of Tier-II Exam: 7th January 2017

Some Important points:
  • Only those candidates would be called for Tier-II exam who come up to a certain standard in Tier-I. 
  • For Tier-II examination, there will be a minimum cut off marks of 33%.

Interview

Total Marks for Interview: 100 marks
On the basis of their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates would be short listed for the interview.

Document Verification:

Based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and interview, the candidates would be short listed for final selection subject to successful completion of their Character and Antecedent verification. 
The admission of a candidate at various stages of examination (Tier-I, Tier-II and interview) will be purely provisional, subject to his/her satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after Tier-I or Tier-II or interview, it is found that a candidate does not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions or has provided any false information or submitted any fake documents, his/her candidature for the said examination shall be cancelled.

Medical Examination:


This is the last stage of Examination, who cleared all 4 stages (Tier-I, Tier-II, Interview & Document Verification) will called for Medical Examination.
