Dear students, Staff Selection Commission will conduct CHSL Tier-2 Descriptive Paper on 9th July 2017. You have crossed one hurdle already, that is, CHSL Tier-1 Exam. Now, again the most challenging part of CHSL Exam process, that is, descriptive paper, is on the way. You need to plan it very meticulously. First, understand the pattern and question types asked in the Descriptive Exam. The descriptive exam will test your writing skills, understanding, analyzing and summarizing skills.
The duration of this paper is 1 hour, Applicants have the choice to appear for this Exam in Hindi Or English Language.It carries a weightage of 100 marks. and questions will be asked from the following sections:

Précis Writing means making a holistic/intelligent summary of a long paragraph. Students need to have a clear understanding of the passage to write a précis. Once you have understood the context, only then you can express it in a concise manner yet include all important points and idea. No new idea should be introduced in the precis writing. 




To prepare for Essay, Start with reading the newspaper (Hindu only for this- editorial section). Focus on how the paragraphs are connected to each other, what is the structure of Essay. Then read some good essays. You can refer any good book (check this-A Guide To Descriptive Writing: Practice ebook) or read the essay of previous years topics and sample essays. You may get them on the internet very easily. we have already provided here on ssc adda. 

Start writing in between. It doesn't matter how bad you are at writing, but you have to do it anyway. Don't be afraid of bad handwriting. Start early, fail early and try to improve yourself. Write an essay and give it to your friends or any person who has a good command over essays for checking. Analyze what you are lacking. Are you not able to make the structure of Essay or you are not able to connect the paragraphs, your introduction is not eye catching or you are not able to give a good conclusion, see what is lacking in now and focus on those areas to make you stronger and better.
