How to Solve Reasoning Questions for SSC CGL 2017


Dear students, SSC CGL Tier-1 2017 is just two weeks away. You need to speed up your practice. SSC CGL Tier I question paper comprises of 4 sections, Quantitative aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English Language and General Studies. Each section contains 25 questions. All questions carry equal marks (2 marks each question). There is no sectional cutoff in SSC CGL Tier 1. So you should attempt the questions which you know correctly irrespective of GA, English, Quant, Reasoning.Focus on the section on which you have good command. For solving any question paper, you need to know the pattern of questions asked, what are the various sections of question paper, which section take more time, while which one takes less time, is there any sectional cutoff or not, negative marking??Attempt only those questions which you know very well. Don't make a blind guess.

Today, we will discuss the easiest and scoring section, that is, Reasoning. For Reasoning, you need to learn a few concepts and then it is just practice. You can easily score 45+ marks in Reasoning. The only thing you need to keep in mind that is speed and accuracy. Speed will come with constant practicing. Solve Reasoning Questions, 25 questions. Solve them within 20 minutes. If you are not able to solve any question, just leave it. Don't be egoistic. You can solve all the questions of this paper if there is no time limit, But your aim is not to solve the each and every question but to clear the exam and avoid negative marking. So be careful. Reasoning Section tests your mental and critical thinking capacity.

General Intelligence: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Blood Relations, Series Problems, Direction based questions, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series,  Coding and decoding, Numerical operations.
Dear Students, you need to figure out the high-frequency type questions which will fetch you better marks. Here are a few important topics of Reasoning from which maximum questions are asked.
"5 questions from Figures including matrix, 2 questions of alpha-numeric series, 3 questions from analogy, 3 odd one out questions, 1 question blood relation, 1 question rank. 2 questions mathematical operation, 1 question direction sense, etc These are a few easy and doable questions which you can solve very quickly."
