Practice Reasoning Questions For NICL AO 2017 (Coding-Decoding New Pattern / Inequality / Input-Output) :
Dear Readers, Important Practice Reasoning Questions for NICL AO 2017  was given here with Solutions. Aspirants those who are preparing for Bank exams & all other Competitive examination can use this material.

Directions (1-3):The following symbols represent time in a clock as: $ – Either the hour or minute hand of clock on 9
#– Either the hour or minute hand of clock on 7
% – Either the hour or minute hand of clock on 6
@ – Either the hour or minute hand of clock on 8
© – Either the hour or minute hand of clock on 2
All the times are in AM. The first symbol represents hours and second symbol represents minutes.
Example: Time ‘@# ’represents 8 hours 35 minutes.

1.A boy reaches his school at time ‘@%’. If he gets late by 40 minutes, then what is the time at when he reaches the school?
1)@ = 8; % =6;
Hence, @% = 8:30 AM
= 8:30 + 40 min = 9: 10 AM
∴The hour hand on 9 and minute hand on 2
∴ The Answer is ‘$©’.
Answer: E
2.A school bus is scheduled to starts at ‘#$’ from the bus stand. If the boy reached the bus stand 10 minutes before the scheduled time of the bus, then at what time the boy has reached the bus stand?
2).# = 7; $ = 9;
Hence, #$ = 7:45 AM
=7:45 – 10 min = 7:35 AM
∴The hour hand on 7 and minute hand also on 7
∴ The Answer is ‘##’.
Answer: C

3.A teacher has to catch a school bus, which is scheduled to starts at ‘@%’ from bus stand. If the time to reach the bus stand from teacher’s home is 1 hour and 45 minutes, then at what time should she leave from her home to get there at the bus stand at least 15 minutes before leaving of the school bus?
3).@ = 8; % =6;
Hence, @% = 8:30 AM
15 minutes before to reach the bus stand i.e. 8:15 AM
So, 8:15 – 1 hr 45 min = 6:30 AM
∴ The hour hand on 6 and minute hand also on 6
∴ The Answer is ‘%%’.
Answer: D

Directions (Q. 4-5): In the following questions, the symbols @,#,%,$ and © are used with the following meanings as illustrated below. (I). ‘P$Q’ means ‘P is not smaller than Q’
(II). ‘P#Q’ means ‘P is not greater than Q’
(III). ‘P@Q’ means ‘P is neither smaller than nor equal to Q’
(IV). ‘P©Q’ means ‘P is neither smaller than nor greater than Q’
(V). ‘P%Q’ means ‘P is neither greater than nor equal to Q’
4.Statements: P#S, S$M, M©N
Conclusions: I. P#M II. N#S III. N$P

4)P ≤ S ≥ M=N
I.P ≤ M
II. N ≤ S
III. N ≥ P
Hence, only II is true.
Answer: B
5. Statements: K#N, N$T, T%U
Conclusions: I. U©N II. K@T III. T@K

5).K ≤ N ≥ T < U
I.U=N
II. K > T
III. T > K
Hence, none is true.
Answer: D

Directions (Q.6-10): Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions.
When a word and number arrangement machine is given an input line of words and numbers, it arranges them following a particular rule. The following is an illustration of input and rearrangement. (All the numbers are two-digit numbers.)
Input: sweet 33 help 57 not 29 best 95 wait 73 goal 19 learn 82
Step I: 95 sweet 33 help 57 not 29 best 73 goal 19 learn 82 wait
Step II : 95 19 33 help 57 not 29 best 73 goal learn 82 sweet wait
Step III: 95 19 82 33 help 57 29 best 73 goal learn not sweet wait
Step IV: 95 19 82 29 33 57 best 73 goal help learn not sweet wait
Step V : 95 19 82 29 73 33 57 best goal help learn not sweet wait
Step V is the last step of the given arrangement as the intended output of the arrangement is obtained. As per the rules followed in the given steps, find the appropriate steps for the given input.
Input: draw 11 know 48 black 72 song 68 ink 61 turn 56 23 rise.
6.Which of the following is fifth from the left end of Step IV?
Directions (Q. 6-10):
Input: draw 11 know 48 black 72 song 68 ink 61 turn 56 rise 23
Step I: 72draw 11 know 48 black song 68 ink 61 56 rise 23turn
Step II: 72 11draw know 48 black 68 ink 61 56 rise 23 songturn
Step III: 72 1168 draw know 48 black ink 61 56 23 rise songturn
Step IV: 72 1168 23 draw 48 black ink 61 56 know rise songturn
Step V : 72 1168 23 61 draw 48 black 56 ink know rise songturn
Step VI: 72 1168 23 61 48 black 56 draw ink know rise songturn
Step VII : 72 1168 23 61 48 56 black draw ink know rise songturn
6). Answer: B

7.How many elements (words/numbers) are there between ‘68’ and ‘56’ as they appear in the step V?
7). Answer: C
8.Which of the following would be the last but one?
8). Answer: A
9.If ‘11’ and ‘black’ interchanges their position in step V, then how many elements are there between 11 and 48?
9). Answer: A
