What is Film festival?

It is an organised and extended presentation of films which is usually done in a single city or a region. These film shows the real talent to the entire world. These are done by universities, private organizations, local governments, arts association or film societies. As the technology is moving forward, film festivals are evolving to keep pace.

The list of Indian films which were recognised globally in various film festivals are:

Cannes Film Festival:

Location: Cannes, France.
  • It was founded on 20th September 1946. 
The list of films which were recognised in Cannes are:-

Afternoon clouds:

  • It is a short film directed by Payal Kapadia. 
  • It is made by the third year student of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). 

The Cinema Travellers:

  • It is directed by the Shirley Abraham and Amit Madheshiya. 
  • It is a documentary and describes about rural Maharashtra. 
  • It is a 96 minute film made over a period of eight years. 

Memories and my mother:

  • It is directed by the Aditya Vikram Sengupta. 
  • It is an emotional response to the city Kolkata. 

Raman Raghav 2.0:

  • It is directed by the Anurag Kashyap. 
  • It is based on the 1960 serial killer. 

Gudh:

  • It is directed by the Saurav Rai. 
  • It is a Nepali language diploma film. 

Baahubali:

  • It is directed by the SS Rajamouli. 
  • It is a warrior based film with strong arms.

It was founded in the year 1951.

Newton:

  • It is based on the election process and how he overcomes this process in naxal-controlled town. 

Aaba:

  • It is directed by the Amar Kaushik. 
  • It is based on the remote village of Arunachal Pradesh in North East. 
Shanghai Film Festival: 
Location: Shanghai, China. 
It was founded in the year 1993.

Sultan:

  • It became the first ever Bollywood film to win the award in china. 
  • It is about Indian wrestling and its raw power. 
Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival: 
Location: Brisbane, Australia. 
It was founded in the year 2007.

Aligarh:

  • It is directed by Hansal Mehta. 
  • It is based on the professor who was suspended on the grounds of morality. 

The Wild Aka Sairat:

  • It is directed by Nagraj Manjule. 
  • It is based on the romantic drama.
