IIT Kharagpur develops new tech to make cheaper, pollution-free bio fuel
Researchers at IIT Kharagpur have developed a new technology which will change the way bio-fuel is manufactured by making the process cheaper, quicker and pollution-free. Professor of Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, Dr Rintu Banerjee today said, the technique will ensure relatively quicker production of bio-fuel and the process is completely green.
Rupee 500 penalty on plastic bags in Goa
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told that to tackle the menace of garbage and litter in public places, the Goa government will impose a fine of 500 rupees from July to implement a ban on buying and selling of plastic bags below 50 microns.

India ranks (120 out of 131) poor in women workforce declared by World Bank
According to India Development Report released by World Bank, India had one of the lowest female participation in the workforce, ranking 120th among 131 countries.In India, the women participation was just at 27% compared to China and Brazil where it was between 65-70%. Even in neighboring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh the figure was higher. According to the report, women entrepreneurs typically create more jobs for women but in India the number is few.
Pentagon successfully tests ICBM defense system for first time
United States has for the first time successfully tested its defence system against an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).The Missile Defense Agency said that a ground-based interceptor was launched at a California air base and shot down a mock ballistic missile. The Pentagon said the test was long-planned but it comes amid increased tensions with North Korea. The test comes after Pyongyang fired its ninth missile this year.

India and Spain have signed seven agreements.
