Supreme Court allows Bihar liquor firms to dispose stock outside state
The Supreme Court today allowed liquor firms in Bihar to dispose of their stock outside the state.The court considered the submission of Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies that they are facing huge economic loss in view of the ban imposed in Bihar on sale of alcoholic beverages.The Confederation said, the existing stock of liquor is of value of almost 200 crore rupees and the firms be allowed to dispose it of in other states where liquor is not banned.The apex court agreed to its contention and granted time till 31st of July for getting rid of the existing stock.
Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugrates workshop on Common Service Centres as GST Suvidha Provider in New Delhi
Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today said encouragement for Common Services Centres, CSCs, has been among the top priorities of the government to make Digital India a reality. CSC is a platform to provide multiple e-services through single-point. The main purpose of these centres is to provide a physical facility for delivery of e-Services of the Government to the rural and remote locations where availability of computers and Internet is currently negligible or mostly absent.The Minister inaugurating a workshop on Common Service Centres as GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) in New Delhi, hoped that CSCs will help Govt in rolling out Goods and Services Tax, GST. He also said the Ministry is more committed towards strengthening the participation of small and medium level traders and village level entrepreneur. Mr Prasad said, in future, these CSCs will start e-Law services where para legal volunteers give legal aid to the common people.

Unmanned aerial vehicles testing and research center was inaugurated by defence minister Arun Jaitley at Challakere in Karnataka
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated the country’s primary aeronautical research facility at Challakere in Karnataka with the assertion that maintaining optimal defence preparedness was crucial.The Aeronautical Test Range will host several unmanned aerial vehicles which will be tested and integrated in this remote facility before being inducted by the Armed Forces.

Raymond will invest 350 crore rupees for retail expansion
Textile and apparel major Raymond will invest 350 crore rupees in capacity and retail expansion this year, the company said. This will help ramp up its apparel sale and grow the fabric business over the next few years, a senior company executive said.“Of the 350 crore rupees, 200 crore rupees will be allocated to manufacturing expansion,both in India and offshore, while 150 crore rupees will go towards retail expansion,” said Sanjay Behl, CEO, Raymond.
Indian Oil Corporation is now India’s most profitable state owned company
Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) has over taken Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) to become India’s most profitable state owned company. IOC, which has for decades been India’s biggest company by turnover, posted a 70% jump in net profit to 19,106.4 crore rupees in the financial year ended March 31, 2017. This was more than the 17,900 crore rupees net profit ONGC posted in the 2016-17 fiscal, making IOC the most profitable public sector undertaking, according to earnings statements of the two companies.

South Korea on Sunday won badminton's Sudirman Cup for the first time in 14 years with an emotional 3-2 victory over 10-time champions China at Australia's Gold Coast.The South Koreans claimed their fourth cup in the world mixed teams competition with a charged 21-17, 21-13 win by Choi Sol-Gyu and Chae Yoo-Jung in the mixed doubles match.
