Explanation With Answer Key:
1).The percentage of Commerce graduate employees and Arts graduate employees in Company S
= (100 – 32) % = 68%
Now, the percentage of Arts graduate employees = 68 × 7 / 17 = 28%
The percentage of Commerce graduate employees = 68 × 10 / 17 = 40%
The number of Arts graduate employees in Company S = 1050 × 28 / 100 = 294
Answer is: a)
2).Total number of employees in Company T = 700
Percentage of Science graduate employees = [100 – (31+40)] = 29%
Now, the percentage difference between Arts graduate employees and Science graduate employees = (40 – 29) % = 11%
11% of 700 = 77
Difference = 77
Answer is: c)
3).The percentage of Arts employees in Company R = (100 – 30 – 30) = 40%
The percentage difference between Arts graduate employees in Company R and P = (40 – 20) = 20%
Now, let the number of employees in Company R be x.
Then, x × 20% = 180
x = 180 × 100 / 20 = 900.
Answer is: d)
4).The percentage of Arts graduate employees in Company Q = (100-35-50) % = 15%
Now, the percentage of Arts graduate employees and Commerce graduate employees = 50 + 15 = 65%
Average of Commerce and Arts graduate employees = 312
The total number of employees in Commerce and Arts = 2 × 312
Let the total employees in Company Q be x. Then, 65% of x = 2 × 312
X = 2 × 312 × 100 / 65 = 960
Answer is: b)
5).The number of employees in Company T in December 2016 = 700
The number of employees in Company T in January 2017= 700 × 120 / 100 = 840
Number of Science graduate employees in Company T in January 2017 = 20 × 840 / 100 = 168
Answer is: e)
6).The milk used for milk products in 2016
= (40 + 50 + 60 + 70) × 30/100
= 220 × 30/100
= 66 lakh litres
The milk used for milk products in 2012
= (30 + 50 + 60 + 70) × 20/100
= 210 × 20/100 = 42 lakh litres
Required difference = (66 - 42)
= 24 lakh litres
Answer is: a)
7).Total production of milk in 2016
= (40 + 50 + 60 + 70) = 2.2 crore litres
Total production of milk in 2011
= (10 + 20 + 40 + 60) = 1.3 crore litres
Required % = (2.2 - 1.3)/1.3 × 100 = 69.23% more than the production of 2011.
Answer is: e)
8).Total production of milk in JK
= (60 + 60 + 70 + 80 + 60 + 70) lakh litres
= 400 lakh litres = 4 crore litres
Total production of milk in Kerala
= (40 + 70 + 50 + 30 + 70 + 60) lakh litres
= 320 lakh litres = 3.2 crore litres
Total production of milk in HP
= (10 + 50 + 10 + 20 + 40 + 50) lakh litres
= 1.8 crore litres
Total production of milk in Rajasthan
= (20 + 30 + 20 + 50 + 50 + 40) lakh litres
= 2.1 crore litres

The milk used for milk products in 2011 = (60 + 40 + 10 + 20) × 12/100
= 1.3 × 12/100 = 15.6 lakh litres
Required ratio = 14.4 : 15.6
Answer is: d)
10).Total production of milk in 2013
= (10 + 20 + 50 + 70) lakh litres
= 1.5 crore litres
The milk used in milk products = 1.5 × 18/100
= 27 lakh litres
Total production of milk in 2015
= (40 + 50 + 60 + 70) = 2.2 crore litres
The milk used in milk products = 2.2 × 12/100
