Explanation With Answer Key:
1) Answer: a)
Number of books bought in :
January à50 +105 +70 +300 +140 +200 +65 = 930
March à106 +100+100+ 500 +370 +700 +135 = 2911
May à 2 +40 +80 +100+ 200+ 15 +111 =548
July à30 +105+ 115+ 216 +225+ 400 +188= 1279
September à25+ 400+ 200+ 135+ 175+ 75+ 25= 1035
Novemberà75+ 375+ 240+ 300+ 470+ 530+ 65= 2055
So maximum number of books were bought in March.
2) Answer: e)
Number of books in the price range :
More than Rs.5000 à50 + 106 + 2 + 30 + 25 + 75 = 288
Rs. 4000 – Rs. 5000à105 + 1000 + 40 + 105 + 400 + 375 = 2025
Rs. 3000 – Rs. 3999 à70 + 100 + 80 + 115 + 200 + 240 = 805
Rs. 2000 – Rs. 2999 à300 + 500 + 100 + 216 + 135 + 300 =1551
Rs.1000 – Rs. 1999 à140 + 370 + 200 + 225 + 175 + 470 = 1580
Rs.500 – Rs. 999 à200 + 700 + 15 + 400 + 75 + 530 = 1920
Less than Rs. 500à65 + 135 + 111 + 188 + 25 + 65 = 589
So maximum number of books bought in price range of  Rs. 4000 – 5000
3) Answer: b)
Required percentage = 140 / 200 *100´ = 70
4) Answer: c)
Number of books bought in September
 = (25 + 400 + 200 + 135 + 175 + 75 + 25) = 1035
Number of books bought in November
= (75 + 375 + 240 + 300 + 470 + 530 + 65) = 2055
So Required difference = 2055 – 1035 = 1020.
5) Answer: d)
Required ratio = 105 : 1000 = 21 : 200
6) Answer: d)
Required percentage
=15000+ 30000/5000 +35000+ 15000 +25000+ 30000 +30000 * 100
=45000/140000*100=32.14 =32% (Approx)
7) Answer: e)
In 2009 Total number of girls = (20 + 20 + 15)
*38/100*1000= 55 *38* 100/100 =17100
Total number of boys = 45000 – 17100 = 27900
Total number of boys who opted for Mathematics
=27900*5/45=3100
8) Answer: a)
Required Ratio = ( 25 + 30) : (5 + 20) = 55 : 25 = 11 : 5
9) Answer: b)
Required Percentage =(15 +10 +15 )*1000 /455030*100
40*1000/455030*100 = 8.796% =9%( approx)
10) Answer: e)
Required total number of students
= (5 + 35 + 15 + 15 + 20 + 5) *1000
= 95 *1000 = 95000
