NAME: TARUN CHETTRI
BANK OF INDIA CLERK
Hello friends,
I am Tarun Chettri from Sikkim. I completed my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from MITS,Gwalior,MP IN 2015.
After my graduation I came back to my state (as I wasn’t interested in private jobs).I had appeared for GATE and that simply proved that I could never master in technical master. I just had a degree in hand. Then I started preparing for bank jobs since there was a lucrative career ahead and the exams were transparent ,and quick.
I started my preparations from Aug 2015. Being an engg. student, quantitative apti was easy for me,I started focusing more on reasoning and within 2 months I had completed almost 80% reasoning syllabus(still 20% was tough for me). English and computer too were not that difficult for me. But I had problem with Banking Awareness since I was a science student. I had a good command in static GK because I have been interested in GK since my childhood. I used to read Manorama Yearbook since 2005. I never missed a newspaper, not even a day since 12yrs back!
So I appeared for IBPS PO Pre on Oct2015, couldn’t clear it by 0.25marks. But I was satisfied since it was my first attempt. I studied more and appeared for IBPS Clerk V Pre and cleared it. But,unfortunately I scored only 113 in mains just because I was slow in reasoning(certain fields) ,also I had performed poorly on Banking Awareness(though Static ones were easy for me). It was then I came to know about bankers adda from my friend. I never missed any questions or articles from BA, and followed banking syllabus everything from bankersadda.
Also I thought of taking coaching. I went to Siliguri(WB) and luckily met my “Gurus”. I joined coaching and slowly I could realize that I was in the race. I scored 78.25 marks in IBPS CLERK CWE VI pre and that really motivated me to work even harder for mains. My “Gurus” were really helpful to me. They gave me every bit of knowledge they had. Mains was tough but I maintained my cool only attempted questions that I was sure. There were only 12seats(out of 17) for UR category from Sikkim and luckily due to God’s blessings and my hard work I can smell the sweet aroma of success.
I just want to say to all aspirants, “Hard work and smartwork, both are equally essential to excel in banking exams”..Be quick and precise .In today’s competitive world, “fast and steady wins the race”!
