Answer Key with Detailed Solutions:
1).Total number of students writing RRB from all institutes together
= 140 + 260 + 320 + 160 + 180 = 1060
Total number of students writing SSC from all institutes together
 = 360 + 180 + 240 + 320 + 240 = 1340
Required % = 1060 / 1340 × 100
Answer is: d)
2).Required %
= (Total number of students writing IBPS and RRB from Institute P / Total number of students writing IBPS and RRB from Institute R) × 100
= (140 + 220) / (200 + 320) × 100
= 360 / 520 × 100
= 900 / 13
= 69   3/13%
Answer is: c)
3).Total number of students selected for SSC CGL tier 2 from B, D and E
= {(180 × 40 / 100) + (320 × 35 / 100) + (240 × 45 / 100)}
= (1.80 × 40) + (3.20 × 35) + (2.40 + 45)
= 72 + 112 + 108
Answer is: c)
4).From Institute P the students writing IBPS selected for Specialist Officer Interview
= 220 × 40 / 100 × 25 / 100 = 22
From Institute T the students writing IBPS selected for Specialist Officer Interview
= 280 × 45 / 100 × 2 / 3 = 84
Total number of students selected for Specialist Officer Interview from Institute P and E together
= 22 + 84 = 106
Answer is: a)
5).Required difference
= (260 × 115 / 100 + 320 × 115 / 100 + 160 × 115 / 100) – (260 × 95 / 100 + 180 × 95 / 100 + 240 × 95 / 100)
= (2.60 × 115 + 3.20 × 115 + 1.60 × 115) – (2.40 × 95 + 1.80 × 95 + 2.60 × 95)
= (299 + 368 + 184) – (228 + 171 + 247)
= 851 – 646 = 205
Answer is: e)
6).Total sale of Banana in 2014
= 500 × 15 / 100 = 75 tonnes
Total sale of Banana in 2015 = 500 × 12 / 100 = 60 tonnes
Total income in a year = (average rate that year in all states × total quantity)
Total income in 2014 = 32 × 75 × 1000 = 2400000
Total income in 2015 = 40 × 60 × 1000 = 2400000
Required difference = 2400000 – 2400000 = 0
Answer is: c)
7).Average price of Banana in Tamil Nadu
= 1 / 6 × (40 + 56 + 56 + 48 + 56 + 40)
= 49.33 kg
Average price of Banana in Kerala
= 1 / 6 × (32 + 16 + 24 + 16 + 24 + 56)
= 28 per kg
Average price of Banana in Andra Pradesh
= 1 / 6 × (16 + 32 + 8 + 56 + 48 + 48)
= 34.66 per kg
Average rate of Banana in Sikkim
= 1 / 6 × (24 + 48 + 40 + 8 + 32 + 32)
= 30.66 per kg
Thus the maximum average price is in Tamil Nadu.
Answer is: d)
8).Total sale of Banana in 2011 = 500 × 25 / 100 = 125 tonnes
Total sales in Kerala in 2011 = 125 × 35 / 100 = 43.75 tonnes
Its total cost = 43.75 × 1000 × 32
Answer is: e)
9).Price of Banana in 2012 in Tamil Nadu = 56 per kg
Price of Banana in 2013 in Andra Pradesh = 8 per kg
Required % = 56 × 100 / 8
= 700%
Answer is: b)

10).Average price of Banana in 2011
= 1 / 4 × (16 + 24 + 32 + 40) = 28 per kg
Average price of Banana in 2012
= 1 / 4 × (16 + 32 + 48 + 56) = 38 per kg
Average price of Banana in 2013
= 1 / 4 × (8 + 24 + 40 + 56) = 32 per kg
Average price of Banana in 2014
= 1 / 4 × (8 + 16 + 48 + 56) = 32 per kg
Average price of Banana in 2015
= 1 / 4 × (24 + 32 + 48 + 56) = 40 per kg
Average price of Banana in 2016
= 1 / 4 × (32 + 40 + 48 + 56) = 44 per kg
In 2016 the average price of Banana per kg is the maximum and in 2011 the average price of Banana is the minimum.
