Answer Key with Explanation:
Direction (01 - 05):
Number of candidates passed
Number of candidates failed
1).  Total number of candidates appearing from all the cities together
= (1.25 + 3.14 + 1.08 + 2.27 + 1.85 + 2.73) lakh
= 12.32 lakh
Required percentage
= 159250/1232000 × 100
= 12.926 ≈ 12.93%
Answer is: a)
2).Number of candidates failing in the Exam from Hyderabad and Jaipur together
= 170250 + 74000 = 244250
Number of candidates failing in the exam from Mumbai and Chennai together
= 37500 + 117750 = 155250
Required ratio
= 244250 : 155250
= 977 : 621
Answer is: c)
3).The number of candidates appearing for the exam from Kolkata and Mumbai together
= 1.08 + 1.25 = 2.33 lakhs
Total number of candidates passing for the exam from Chennai and Bangalore together
= 196250 + 159250 = 3.555 lakhs
Required percentage
 = 2.33/3.555 × 100
Answer is: b)
4).City has the highest number of passing students is Chennai = 196250
 City has the lowest number of students failing is Mumbai = 37500
Difference = 196250 – 37500
Answer is: d)
5).The number of candidates passed from Jaipur and Kolkata together
= 111000 + 48000 = 159000
Total number of failed candidates from Hyderabad = 170250
Required percentage
= (159000/170250) × 100
Answer is: e)
Direction (06 - 10):
6).Number of candidates Appeared from Economics and History discipline
= 25780 × (14 + 28)/100
Number of candidates selected from Chemistry and Accounts discipline
= 7390 ×  (11 + 16) /100
Required difference
= 10827.6 – 1995.3
Answer is: e)
7).Required ratio
= 25780 × (12 + 16)/100 : 7390 × (32 + 7)/100
= 7218.4 : 2882.1
= 72184: 28821
Answer is: b)
8).Number of candidates appeared in interview from Mathematics discipline
= 25780 × (12 + 18 + 28)/100
= 25780 × 58 / 100
= 14952.4 = 14952
Number of candidates selected in interview from Chemistry discipline
= 7390 × (11 + 20 + 14)/100
= 7390 × 45 / 100
= 3325.5 = 3326
Required percentage
= 14952/3326 × 100
Answer is: b)
9).It is obvious from the Pie chart.
History = (25780 × 28)/100 - (7390 × 32)/100
= 7218.4 – 2364.8
Chemistry = (25780 × 16)/100 – (7390 × 11)/100
= 4124.8 – 812.9
Mathematics = (25780 × 12)/100 – (7390 × 20)/100
= 3093.6 – 1478
Economics = (25780 × 14)/100 – (7390 × 7)/100
= 3609.2 – 517.3

= 4640.4 – 1182.4
Answer is: c)
10).Number of candidates selected from Accounts, Chemistry and others discipline
= 7390 × (16 + 11 + 14)/100
= 7390 × 41/100
Number of candidates Appeared from History, Economics and Mathematics discipline
= 25780 × (28 + 14 + 12)/100
