Hindu Newspaper Vocabulary for SBI PO 2017

Hello, Greetings!! SBI PO 2017 will commence in the month of APRIL 2017. In order to help and guide all of you, we're going to post VOCABULARY BASED ON THE HINDU NEWSPAPER. In all the competitive exams, Vocabulary questions are asked from newspapers. 

1.Repechage
Meaning: a trial heat (as in rowing) in which first-round losers are given another chance to qualify for the semifinals
Sentence: The British would now have to row and win in a repechage the next day if they were to  be one of the final six boats in the medal race.


2.Stochastic
Meaning: involving a random variable
Synonyms: probability
Sentence: a stochastic process
3.Abdicate
Meaning: to leave the position of being a king or queen
Synonyms: resign, retire
Sentence: "in 1918 Kaiser Wilhelm abdicated as German emperor"
4.Chastity
Meaning: the state or practice of refraining from extramarital
Synonyms: pure, clean
Sentence: The vows of chastity
5.Vivacious
Meaning: (especially of a woman) attractively lively and animated.
Synonym: lively, animated, full of life, spirited, high-spirited, effervescent
Sentence: "her vivacious and elegant mother"
Meaning: the responsibility for something
Synonyms: blot, stain
Sentence: he perpetually tries to shift the onus for any mistakes onto other team members
7.Recourse
Meaning: something that one uses to accomplish an end especially when the usual means is not  available
Synonyms: expedient, resource
Sentence: a toddler quickly learns that a tantrum is a surefire recourse when a polite request  for something is met with parental 
indifference
8.Jingoism
Meaning: extreme patriotism
Synonyms: chauvinism, xenophobia
Sentence: the popular jingoism that swept the lower–middle classes
9.Wriggle out
Meaning: to wiggle and squeeze out of something or some place
Synonyms: Manage to avoid from doing it. 
Sentence: Don't try to wriggle out of this. I won't let you wriggle out this time.
10.Espoused
Meaning: adopt or support (a cause, belief, or way of life).
Synonyms: embrace, welcome
Sentence: Edward had espoused the lady Grey
