Study Plan for SSC CGL Pre-2017
Dear Students, SSC CGL Pre Exam 2017 will be held in June/July 2017. Only four months are left.but you have ample time to prepare and score maximum in SSC CGL Pre 2017 exam. So, Now it’s high time you planned your studies effectively and smartly.
First and foremost, Know your syllabus completely. And strategize your course of action.
Students, Since all the exams of the SSC are held online, hence you are advised to be familiar with the online format and PRACTICE ONLINE TEST SERIES and free mock tests. It will help you immensely and your dream of getting a job might come true in this year itself. Give your best Shot. DON’T SETTLE, TILL YOU MAKE IT.
Here, in no particular order of preference, is the strategy to be followed by students.
The total number of questions in Tier-I- 100. The paper will be of 200 marks with each question carrying 2 marks. The duration of the examination would be 75 minutes.
Tier-I of the examination will comprise four parts
(i) English Comprehension.
(ii) General Intelligence & Reasoning
(iii) General Awareness
(iv) Quantitative Aptitude
Each part would comprise 25 questions of 50 marks. 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
1 How to prepare effectively for English Section:
For an overall understanding of English Language Students need to cultivate reading habits. Now Since, as you have enough time left for the SSC CGL Pre Exam 2017, now do a lot newspaper reading and practice questions and MOCK Tests as much as you can. Focus on your positive areas and make sure you score best in such topics.
- For Sentence Improvements, knowledge of tenses, sentence structure is required. So, learn and memorize important structures in the English language.
- For Error Detection, Knowledge of Subject-verb agreement, pronouns, adjectives, conjunctions, determiners, and tenses is required. Revise and learn all important rules for this section.
- For Fill in the blank type Questions, Focus on prepositions and vocabulary. Questions are asked from these two topics.
- For One Word Substitution, memorize important and frequently asked at least 300 words.
- For Idioms/Phrases, memorize important and frequently asked at least 300 words/phrases.
- For Comprehension, Practice mock tests. The trick is to read the questions first and then read the passage. This way you can save your precious time. your reading habits come handy in this section.
- For Antonym/Synonym/Spellings, learn, memorize and practice mock tests.
- Always maintain a personal vocab diary, note down all the important vocabulary that you encounter in your newspaper reading. This habit will benefit you a lot.
