'Paytm Mall' a new shopping platform launched by Paytm :

Paytm's e-commerce arm has launched a new mobile app and online shopping portal called 'Paytm Mall'. The new platform will allow customers to shop products across categories such as fashion, electronics, consumer durables and home furnishings. Paytm has launched a separate e-commerce app since the original Paytm app is now Paytm Wallet and is a part of Paytm Payments Bank.

606th foundation day celebrated by Ahmedabad :

The city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat celebrated its 606th foundation day on Sunday. Manek Nath, a seer, advised the city's founder Ahmed Shah I to begin the construction of Manek Burj, the foundation bastion of the city back in 1411. Ahmedabad is the sixth largest city and seventh largest metropolitan area of India.
Trainsets with capability to run at 160 kmph to be manufactured by Indian Railways :

Following the failure of its global bid, the Indian Railways has decided to manufacture its own trainsets in Chennai that can run at up to 160 kmph. Named 'Train-2018', the first such trainset is expected to be ready in 2018. Notably, a trainset has coaches that are individually powered by a propulsion system, eliminating the need for a locomotive.
A high level workshop organized by NITI Aayog for advancing Innovation in Passenger Mobility & Transportation :
NITI Aayog will organize a two day high level workshop on advancing passenger mobility and transportation at New Delhi today. Several ministers including Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, and Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Anant Gangaram Geete will attend the meet.
The workshop in association with Rocky Mountain Institute, an international non-profit organization, will explore technologies and business models to help India leapfrog traditional approaches to passenger mobility and transportation.

Government today starts issuing Sovereign Gold Bonds 2016-17-Series IV :
Government will accept applications from today to issue Sovereign Gold Bonds 2016-17-Series IV and the application for the bonds will be accepted till3rd of next month. The bonds will be issued on 17th of next month.
The issue price of the Gold Bonds will be 50 rupees per gram less than the nominal value. In order to move towards the digital payments, the cash payments for the Bond will be acceptable up to 20,000 rupees. Minimum investment in the bonds shall be one gram with a maximum limit of subscription of five hundred grams per person per fiscal year.
On providing high-quality facilities to sports persons Centre allotted Rs 350 Crfund :
Centre would spend 350 crore rupees for providing high-quality facilities to sports persons and 200 trainers will be recruited soon in the Sports Authority of India. This was disclosed by Executive Director (Finance), Sports Authority of India, Hira Ballabh, while interacting with sports persons and trainers after inspecting Sports Authority of India Training Centre, Kurukshetra yesterday.
Mr.Ballabh said that recovery physiotherapy centre will soon be established at the Centre for helping sports persons recover from injuries. He said that the Central Government will also provide all possible help for laying Astroturf for hockey in the premises of the Training Centre.
Bihar  Govt made announcement on production of 'Neera' from April :
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that the production of pre-fermentation version of palm tree juice - Neera will start in the state from April this year. Addressing a function to celebrate the 640th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, the Chief Minister said, this is being done as part of the state government's comprehensive action plan to increase income from palm tree. Mr Kumar said, Bihar government will popularise Neera and other products made from it like jaggery and candy. He said factories for Neera production will be set up at four places.

1st Chinese official visit to US after Trump chaired to be happen :
 China says, it is sending its senior official to visit the United States since President Donald Trump took office. Quoting Foreign Ministry, state news agency Xinhua said President Xi Jinping's top foreign policy adviser and State Councilor Yang Jiechi is scheduled to meet high-ranking U.S. officials today and tomorrow to exchange views on bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.
The visit follows a phone call between Yang and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson last week, during which the two leaders affirmed the importance of a constructive U.S.-China relationship. Earlier President Trump has said China was cheating at trade and threatened to raise import tariffs.

Fund Sanctions by SIDBI for start-ups now crosses ₹1,112 crore of this fiscal :
The SIDBI has sanctioned ₹300 crore to fund managers for investing in startups, taking the total sanctions this fiscal to over ₹1,112 crore. During fiscal years 2014-15 and 2015-16, sanctions made were ₹314 crore and ₹607 crore respectively. In 2016, the Cabinet approved setting up of a ‘Fund of Funds for Startups’ with a corpus of ₹10,000 crore at SIDBI.

Bharti Airtel cuts domestic roaming charges for voice, sms and data services :
Bharti Airtel today announced there will be no domestic roaming charges on its network for voice and data services. All incoming calls and messages will be free and no premium will be charged on outgoing calls while roaming across India from April 1, it said. Notably, Airtel's move comes after Jio announced there won't be roaming charges on its network.

World's first 5G-suppourting smartphone launched by ZTE :
Chinese smartphone maker ZTE has unveiled the 'Gigabit Phone', which it says is the world's first 5G network compatible smartphone. Its download speeds can reach 1Gbps, 10 times faster than the first generation of 4G services widely in use. The 5G-ready phones will come with instant APP technology, which removes the need for download or installation of applications, said ZTE.
Nokia relaunches its highest selling model Nokia3310  with colour display for ₹3,500:
Finland-based licensee of the Nokia brand HMD on Sunday relaunched the Nokia 3310 phone at about ₹3,500 with a colour display and the iconic Snake game. The phone, which was phased out in 2005, will have two micro SIM slots, a 2.4-inch screen, and a 2-megapixel camera. It will have 25 days of standby time and 22 hours talk time.
Robotic spacecraft to reach Sun planned by NASA :
NASA plans to send its first robotic spacecraft to the Sun next year, to probe its atmosphere. Eric Christian, a NASA research scientist at Goddard Space Flight Centre said in Washington that NASA's Solar Probe Plus mission to the Sun, which is about 149 million kilometres from the Earth, will unveil why the surface of the Sun is not as hot as its atmosphere, how solar wind gets its speed and why the Sun occasionally emits high energy particles that are a danger to unprotected astronauts and spacecraft. He said NASA has designed a 11.4 centimetres carbon-composite shield, which is designed to withstand temperatures outside the spacecraft of 1,370 degrees Celsius.

Oscars 2017 : Best Foreign Film award won by Iranian film 'The Salesman'
'The Salesman', the Iranian film by director Asghar Farhadi, was named the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars 2017 today. Farhadi, who did not attend the ceremony, said, "My absence is out of respect for the people of my country." He described US President Trump's immigration ban as "inhumane". Notably, this is Farhadi's second film to win an Oscar.

Oscars 2017 : Best Animated Feature Film won by 'Zootopia'
Disney's 'Zootopia' won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at the Academy Awards today. In the Best Animated Short Film category, 'Piper' emerged the winner. Further, 'Sing' won the Oscar for 'Live Action Short Film' while 'O.J.: Made in America' was named the winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

89th Oscar Academy Awards 2017 : 'La La Land' won maximum of 6 awards :
The showbiz fairy tale "La La Land" has won leading six awards at the 89th Oscar Academy Awards. "La La Land" won awards for best actress Emma Stone, its jazz-infused songs and its Director, Damien Chazelle. The coming-of-age drama "Moonlight" won the best picture award. Casey Affleck took the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in "Manchester by the Sea". Mahershala Ali won the Oscar for best supporting actor in "Moonlight", while Viola Davis won for best supporting actress for her role in "Fences".
Iranian Film 'The Salesman' Wins Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. The award for best documentary feature went to "O.J. Made in America". The Syrian war documentary "The White Helmets" has won the short documentary Academy Award. Indian actor Om Puri, "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds and Bill Paxton were among late stars, who were remembered and honored at the Oscars. The Award ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre, in Los Angeles.

ISSF World Cup 2017 : 10m pistol mixed India won Gold medal :
Indian shooters Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu clinched the gold medal in the 10m pistol mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi on Monday. The duo defeated Japan in the event's final to hand India its second medal at the World Cup. Earlier, Pooja Ghatkar had won the women's 10m air rifle bronze medal at the competition.

Hockey India League 2017 won by Kalinga Lancers :
Kalinga Lancers clinched their maiden Hockey India League title by beating Dabang Mumbai 4-1 in the final on Sunday. Mumbai, the table toppers in the league stage, had beaten Delhi Waveriders 2-0 while Kalinga had defeated Uttar Pradesh Wizards in a penalty shoot-out in the semi-finals. Kalinga Lancers had ended the last season as runners-up.
World record set by Hyderabad girl for playing marathon carrom :
Sixteen-year-old Shaik Husna Sameera from Hyderabad and 22-year-old Allada Pavan, who is now employed in Bengaluru, officially entered the Guinness World Records for 'Longest marathon carrom playing'. They played carrom for 34 hours 45 minutes and 56 seconds at a stretch, breaking the previous record of 32 hours and 45 minutes set in 2005.
Delhi Marathon men's and women's category won by Gopi, Athare :
Rio Olympian Thanackal Gopi won the men's title in the second edition of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon today. Monika Athare claimed the honours in the women's section.
In Men's full marathon New Delhi today, Gopi clocked 2 hours, 15 minutes and 37 seconds to win the race in his first appearance in the event. Gopi, who is from Army Sports Institute in Pune, has already qualified for the World Athletics Championships to be held in London in August.
Saina Nehwal to represent Olympic Committee in BWF :
Adding another feather in her cap, star shuttler Saina Nehwal, who was appointed a member of the International Olympic Committee's Athletes' Commission (AC) last year, would be representing the panel in the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
IOC said in a communication to Nehwal that she would join the BWF Athletes' Commission as a representative of the IOC AC. The Chair of BWF AC has informed others on the panel about Saina's joining the BWF AC as a representative of the IOC AC.
