Common form for different types of withdrawals  got introduced by EPFO :

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced a common form to let people make different types of money withdrawals from their PF account. Fund subscribers will no longer require filing documents like marriage invitation cards for taking advances. The forms, besides the ones for advances and withdrawals, have been replaced with a single page Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar).
Anti-virus software for mobiles and desktops launched for free by Govt :

The government has launched free anti-virus softwares for smartphones and personal computers named 'Mkavach' and 'Samvid' respectively. Another software named 'USBPratirodh' has been launched to control the unauthorised usage of removable USB storage devices. The launches are a part of government's new 'Cyber Swachhta Kendra' project where it will spend 90 crore over five years on cyber security.
India's first heliport to be commissioned in Delhi :

The first heliport in India will be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju in North Delhi on Tuesday. The heliport, built by state-owned Pawan Hans, consists of a terminal building, nine parking bays and four hangars with a parking capacity of 16 helicopters. It was built at an investment of 100 crore, said Pawan Hans chairman BP Sharma.

Maternity leave for industrial women workers got doubled by Govt :

The government on Tuesday doubled the maternity leave for women working in industries from the existing three months to six months. However, the benefit will be restricted to women who make a monthly contribution to the employees' state insurance corpus from their salaries. About 29 lakh women working across various industries will be benefitted by the move.
Compensation for acid attack victims' increased to Rs.7L  by Delhi govt :

The AAP government has informed the Delhi High Court that it has raised the compensation for acid attack victims from 3 lakh to 7 lakh. Further, the Delhi government said it has directed all Delhi hospitals to provide free treatment to such victims. The submission was made while hearing the plea filed by several victims against the compensation cap.

Restrictions implemented for number of guests attending weddings by J&K Govt :

The Jammu and Kashmir government has put a cap on the number of guests for a daughter's wedding at 500, and for a son's wedding at 400 starting April 1. The number of guests has been restricted to 100 for smaller functions like engagements. The state government has also banned sending sweets or dry fruits with wedding invitation cards.

Increasing in capacity of solar parks & projects got approved in Cabinet :  

The Union Cabinet today decided to enhance solar power capacity from 20,000 Mega Watt to 40,000 Mega Watt for development of solar parks and ultra mega solar power projects. Briefing media in New Delhi after the Cabinet meeting, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said, the enhanced capacity will ensure setting up of at least 50 solar parks each with a capacity of 500 Mega Watt and above in various parts of country. He said, solar parks and ultra mega solar power projects will be set up by 2019-20 with government's support of 8,100 crore rupees. This will lead to abatement of around 55 million tonnes of CO2 per year over its life cycle.
First strategic dialogue between India & China held today in Beijing :
India and China today held their first strategic dialogue in Beijing to shore up bilateral ties. In his opening remarks at the dialogue, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar said, the relations between the two countries have really acquired a very steady momentum over many years. He said, India have truly transcended the bilateral dimension of relations and what happens between both nations has great global and regional significance.
Mr Jaishankar said, the leadership level meetings of India and China have been taking place regularly and economic engagement is growing.

Tamil Nadu govt decides to implement 7th Pay Commission Recommendations :

The Tamil Nadu government has decided to implement the Seventh Pay Commission Recommendations for its employees, pensioners and family pensioners. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy said in a statement in Chennai that a five member panel has been constituted to study various aspects of the Pay Commission recommendations for its adoption in the state.
The panel is represented by additional chief secretary of Finance, principal secretaries of Home and school education, secretary of personnel and administrative reforms and a member secretary. Mr Palaniswamy said, the panel would give its recommendations within four months.

Installing of 900 MW hydropower project at Nepal got approved from Centre :

The government on Wednesday approved a 900 MW hydropower project worth 5,723.72 crore to be set up in Nepal's Sankhuwasabha district. An MoU for the project, to be implemented within five years, was signed in 2008. It would be implemented by a subsidiary of the state-owned SJVN, which is a joint venture between the Centre and the Himachal Pradesh government.

Sierra Leone approves Bengali as its official language :
Bengali was announced as an official language in the west African nation of Sierra Leone to recognise the contributions of the Bangladeshi peacekeeping forces in the country's civil war. Bangladeshi forces, which constituted the largest part of the UN Mission, played an important part in fighting the rebels during the civil war, which lasted from 1991 to 2002.

All coal imports from North Korea got banned by China :
China has announced it is suspending all coal imports from North Korea until the end of the year in compliance with United Nations Security Council resolutions over North Korea's nuclear program. With coal being North Korea's largest export item, the country is believed to have been dependent on China for trade since its economy collapsed in the late 1990s.

Seven new miniature frog species discovered by  Indian scientists :
Seven new miniature frog species which can comfortably sit even on a child's thumbnail have been discovered by Indian scientists in the Western Ghats after five years of extensive exploration. The study conducted by two Delhi University-based researchers in the Western Ghats said that these frogs were overlooked earlier because of their insect-like calls and secretive habitats.
It is a very interesting finding because they are from small geographical region. Apart from big animals like Tiger and elephants, there is a need to conserve this tiny amphibian also as they have been ignored.
Microsoft launches Skype Lite app offers which works even on 2G :
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Wednesday launched 'Lite' versions of business networking app LinkedIn and video chat platform Skype for India. The Skype Lite app will offer Aadhar-based authentication and work on 2G networks. Nadella also introduced 'Project Sangam' that will help citizens learn new skills to apply for jobs and 'Placements' app to help college graduates get better jobs.

Shurhozelie Liezietsu sworn in as new Nagaland CM :
Shurhozelie Liezietsu was on Wednesday sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Nagaland by Governor PB Acharya. The 81-year-old scholar had begun his political career as a member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1969 from northern Angami-I under Kohima district. He has served the office eight times, holding different portfolios, including education and planning.

Snapdeal-owned online recharge platform FreeCharge's CEO Govind Rajan has resigned from the company within nine months of his appointment. Snapdeal's newly appointed Chief Strategy and Investment Officer Jason Kothari will be overseeing the business operations of FreeCharge. The past three months have seen a number of high-level exits at Snapdeal.

Indian women team trounced South Africa in final of ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier 2017 :
India beat South Africa by one wicket in the final of ICC Women World Cup Qualifier 2017 at Colombo this evening. India achieved the target of 245 runs on the last ball of the 50th over.  For India, Deepti Sharma was the highest scorer with 71 runs while Mona Meshram made 59 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten at 41.
